Just wondering if any devs have tried the mod PROJECT REALITY for BF2 and if so, will FH2 be a little similar? I like the more realistic weapon damage and hit box corrections. Thought I'd throw it out there. Also woot! My first post!

Yes, they have (at least some of them) and they didn't like all the aspects, spawn times and 2 men tank crews for example, but FH2 is indeed going to have realistic weapon damage. Probably even more realistic than PR, one rifle round will likely kill you.

And welcome to the forums :)

While PR is BF2 vanilla "extended", its still BF2, that means, still a bad game, still not what Battlefield is all about... FH2 brings back the Battlefield core to the game, and that's what important, that is more important than technical details about hitboxes... FH2 is not BF2, its a new game, if you wanted Battlefield 1942 II from DICE, you didnt get it in 2005, but even if they actually would have done that, i doubt it would be close to what FH2 is bringing us... FH brought the realism into the BF world, I doubt PR also can bring the atmosphere that FH2 does, and to me atmosphere is where the experience is created, everything else is secondary... thats why FH for bf1942 is still the best game for me, much better than PR, BF2 or POE2, it has the atmosphere...

If you want to know how much FH can add in terms of realism to BF2's engine... Well, this what I do: Look @ how Vanilla BF42 was and then look @ FH 0.66 and 0.7 (For me 0.66 was as good as 0.7, just a bit too ambitious for the engine). Then look @ what the BF2's engine offers compared to what BF42 offered, then up your rating by considering lessons probably learned, the learning curve difference for BF2's code versus BF42's and finally, look @ the updates and the little comments made by the devs of what the goodies the've added + estimate up again to cater for what they have added but have kept as surprises.... I guess you can figure out for yourself how Reality mod-ish Fh2 would be...

FH2 is alot like FH.

And PR is more realistic if you take into account vehicle specific kits and seperate gunners/drivers. But some other things are more realistic in FH.

In my opinion its a bit pointless asking the Devs to make a comparison between THEIR mod and another mod team's work, rather, I would leave the comparisons till both mods have been released and let the players/critics decide in the forums.

I know nothing at all, but I'm thinking along the lines of, both mods are so different. One caters for the modern combat enthusiast where realism, team work and strategy is paramount, which I can admire and appreciate and the other caters for the WWII enthusiast like me who has experienced FH 0.7 at its best and hope to again in FH2 and will do if the latest update is anything to go by.

I agree, I was just trying to gauge how many things FH2 would fix from Vanilla BF2. It seems the hit boxes and weapons are way too arcade like in vanilla. I have been playing FH since it's first release and I love it more than any other video game I have ever played. I have full faith in the FH2 mod team, and as soon as I start downloading FH2, any other BF2 mods are on their way out of my hard drive. I also realize that they cannot reveal too much info on it, especially since it's still a work in progress and things change.

I'm just jacked to play it and now I can ask and contribute on the forums. thanks again all, see you on the battlefield soon....

Actually, seperate gunners/drivers isnt more realistic. Quite the contrary. In real life the crew of an AFV is trained to work together and thats the sort of stuff you cant simulate in a game by splitting the gunner and driver. In a game it looks like amusing at best and stupid at worst when you see one person driving and another trying to fire at something.

A seperate gunner and driver is still more realistic. It has nothing to do with how well trained people are in the real world or in the game.

Anyway I love having seperate gunners and drivers simply because there is nothing as much fun as sitting in a tank with three guys, talking over teamspeak and working together. I know it's not going to happen in FH2 though.

If it has nothing to do how well trained people are in real life then what does it have to do with. You might want to explain why its somehow more realistic.

Im happy thats its not gonna happen. It doesnt work anyway. Thats why people drive of by themselves. Why wait for someone else when you before hand its going to wind up bad? I dont see much fun in that, really.
