OK, so the facts are: Forgotten Hope is an awesome modification with tonnes of maps and vehicles and classes and what not. But there's one thing that's distubingly left out: Map descriptions. After the load process, the window that's supposed to explain what the map is all about is more often than not empty. Yes, you could say that "OMG n01 readz teh map desqriptionz anyw4yzzz!!!11" and maybe you're right. Galactic Conquest had to put the objectives in their loading screens themselves because there were these 30% of n00bz who were too lazy to read the four lines of objectives and thus joined Tanaab, Task Force Battle, or Death Star with zero clue as to what the Hell to do (I once played a match where I had to explain the objectives to the illiterates three timesmadx.gif! Aargh!). But the maps should still have map descriptions, especially on objective maps like Bombing the Reich, where you have a set of objectives to complete. Can't the maps be given map descriptions? Historical data as well as the type of map (Conquest, etc.) would be really nice. From S-K with Love

Yes, BF1918 did this (I should know, I put them into good English) and it adds a real sense of professionality to it - a shine, if you will.

I 'd like to see some more info on the loading screens about the setting of the battle, the greater historical context etc... +info about the map could also be included (push map etc..)

It ruins the loading screens that look very nice, better than in any other mod imo. Mapdescriptions can be found on the website and in the future in the manual I believe. So zero info on the loading sreens please! Info on the Battle: google is your friend.

Of course, but if the info was right there, in the window that pops up after loading, I wouldn't have to google, would I nowwinkx.gif?

Not the loading screen, the briefing screen, which comes up after the map has loaded. It should say objectives, a brief historical description. Ah! A second too slow.

pwned.gif:D The fact that many people don't even remember what the objectives screen is when I mention it in cases like this one says quite a bit about how unused it is by... certain peopleroll%20eyes%20%28sarcastic%29.gif.

Yeah, I also think that there should be different debriefings for different victories/defeats. So a major victory gets a "great", a minor gets a "good" a minor defeat gets "pwned" and major gets "cry yourself to sleep" or historical equivalentsyeltongue.gif

Objectives should only be described if applicable. Some maps have a small set of flags, it's just attack and defend. Others have doors to be blown up, bunkers to be captured. Objectives should be described on the loading screen - the only way to force people to read them. I always unconsciencely click the briefing screen away, a habit I suppose. Once ingame, no one wants to be bothered with bulks of information anymore.

I was of course responding to dr. Honk who wanted more info on the loading screens but the objectives screen I've never checked it out personally so I wouldn't mind having more info on there.
