When attacking an enemy ship, should I aim specifically for a certain point, such as the bridge or just above the water line (the idea being that leaks would result)? Or doesn't it matter? S-K
i never saw any change in damage no matter where I got hit.
dont realy know, but ships seem to be quite vulnerabel from airattacks. torpedoes unproperly being dropped directly on the ship seem to do a abit more than usual damage done by a regular torpedo run. an allied destroyer on desertrose goes down with about 2-4 250kg bombs.
In my experience, hit the bridge, blow away the command crew.

might be possible. would love to hear a response from one of the devs to clear things up because the only real naval map, RHEINÜBUNG, is a regular on our servers rotation. interesting topic anyway.
I've hit the bridge and seen nothing but the same damage I get if I hit elsewhere. There's no hit zones on ships in my experience, and if there are, they are incorrectly placed.
Bombs from airplanes that hit a wooden deck would do a lot of damage. Hitting the bridge would disable the ship. Hitting the rear of the ship would destroy the rudder and screws, and that would disable the ship. None of these spots do any more damage then a normal hit.
I don't know how it is in FH but I think in vanilla a torpedo did more damage if it was dropped in the water the proper way instead of used like a bomb and dropped directly on the ship.
There are hitzones for ships. The hull will do the least damage and just behind the command post will do the most. If you can hit the deck of the ship that will also do more damage than hitting the hull IIRC.
? Torpedoes are more effective below the waterline AFAIK, dunno if it is coded that way but...
Time to play Silent Hunter 3. :naughty:
