does anyone know anything about what the entrenchment tool is thats shown in the most recent update? (little shovel thingy above the katana)equipment.jpg

oo i hope its the german version of the katana where i can wack you across the head with a shovel if you think its used for digging trenches, its impossible thanks to DiCE

you cant have a hole, but in dc the eng used to be able to place sand bags. So potentially you could have it 'drop' some sort of dirt barrier. Id say thats pretty unlikey though, and it will just be a whacker.

Actually, word is that there will a be an entrenching tool for close combat. When Jackal was talking about new sounds he mentioned it... I don't know if it'll be in 0.65 though.

They put it in the screenshot so we proably got a good shot at gettin the whacker for .65, espcially if this buisness about the sounds is true.

Read All Quiet on the Western Front, it has some interesting sections on how the main character, a German soldier slices French troops to ribbons with the spade on an 'over the top' rush. Good times. (just a little fyi)
