Are any of the current maps being cleaned up for 0.62 fix problems with them? I know Valirisk is redone, and Prokhorovka is being cleaned up to help out the lag problems. But how about other maps with minor problems that aren't bugs, just poor design? Like on Storm how that Pak at the top right flag is useless because of the high sand bags. Berlin Outskirts needs to allow the German house flag to be cappable to prevent 20 minutes of boring slaughter if they lose all the trench flags. And that howitzer on the lower right side of Arnhem is in a totally useless spot. Etc, etc.
Gazala: There's a Howitzer in the base second closest to the British base that can only shoot the sandbags in front of it, killing you, or the hillside a good ways away. Trying to kill tanks coming through the canyon is near impossible. Breakthrough: This might be intentional, but when the British have the windmill, they get a Howitzer. When the Germans have it, they get nothing. Also, there's no paratrooper kits, despite there being an air transport. Zielona Gora: Are the artilleries (especially that Katyusha) necessary on a map that's so small? The map is great for infantry battles without having to worry about that stupid rocket arty. Gold Beach: It's possible to be trapped in the bottom of the structure in the main German base, even fall through the bottom of it if you get pushed there by the elevator. It sucks to get stuck there, and this can make the flag uncappable, as you have an unshootabe player hiding under the terrain.

Map things I've noticed that need done (in my opinion, which is right). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fog distance in Prokhorovka needs extended, clutter and lag in cities needs reduced.
All Pacific maps need rebalanced and have Shermans replaced with Stuarts, perhaps add more undergrowth. All pacific maps need MG42s replaced with Type92s/96/99s.
Desert maps need Panzer4F added as a balancing bit.
Berlin Outskirts should be removed :P.
Zeilona Gora needs redone into a fun map with no arty and lots of cover.
Alpenfestung needs less allied bombers and more axis tanks (P4?).
Karelia needs generally re-done to support more dynamic gameplay and give Axis a chance once they lose the lower flag (land bridge), also no IS-2, give them a T-34.
Stalingrad needs rifle grenades removed and wooden boat HP to be slightly more.
Both Omaha maps need to be designed with protected spawns so people aren't gunned down as they appear.
Landing Crafts need WOODEN sides, vulnerable to 7.62mm and up, like they were in real life. 20mm aircraft cannons or 15mm Stuka cannons should easily tear them apart.
All maps need to fix the JU88A spawn.
Breakthrough needs a HE110 or Stuka, they had to have at least 1 stuka lying around.
Crete needs 0 stukas and more JUs, island needs much less AA.
Battle of Pavlov needs LESS Browning Mgs and no rifle grenades for Russia, and needs more emplacements of MG42s (which was one of the big balancing factors for Germany, better machineguns, but on this map, they get one and its in a crappy position) and for the love of all that is holy class limits on the PPsH.
Bocage needs a Tiger to counter the P-47-D and Jackson. And perhaps an effective 30mm cannon on the BF109.
Orel could use optimizing and removing of 3 flags on the west part of the map to centralize the battle.

The C47 planes are placeholders for Lancaster bombers so there won't be paratroopers on Breakthrough.

First of all I know the release is coming soon. I'm just stating the things wrong in the .61 release maps to make them clear and organized in one post. I don't expect them all to be acted on or anything before .62 and understand most of them have probably been fixed. I also know I missed some but someone else can do those. Two things that should be fixed on all maps first of all. Not all Stukas had a 1000Kg ship busting bomb (that has the same damage as a 150Kg bomb just with bigger splash damage) BFE uses a Stuka with 3 250kgs and it works great. Also make the Faust work like it did in RL. Right now its like launching a waterballon out of a pipe by trying to blow it out. Aberdeen- needs PIVF2s. 2 Fireflies with sherman support can dominate that level all the time. Alpenfestung- Ohioan's right. More german tanks, and less allied heavy bombers. the P47s are fine though . Also more flying room and more effective german jets (those 30mm cannons would be better if they hurt a sherman) Arnhem- needs something to stop those early Puma and jeep rushes. this doesn't mean blocking the bridge more though. Also drop the StuGs. I love them but no one uses them on that map, including me. Altantic- I don't have a damn clue cause it isnt played. Fix that factor and I can tell you gameplay fixes. BoB- I've never played this but I hear the spits are screwed up and I think the Ju88s are to since they are on every other map. Fix the planes on their and add some He111s and that new Hurricane (probably already done) Maybe add one stuka (regular stuka, must die to spawn again). Bulge- seems ok for what it is. I would prefer a whole new map for the Ardennes but some improvements could be a jackson and some M18 hellcats when their done. Also 76s when their finished also. More german static artillery would be a plus. Battleaxe- probably just needs balancing like all the other desert maps. Never played it. Berlin- PPsH vs StG44 is kinda equal but the removal of that 88 would be top notch. Outskirts- fix it. Either its gay for the Allies if their unorganized or a spawn camp for the Germans cause of the PPsH in those trenches. Orel- not bad, could use some optimizing and less uber-PPsH. Stalingrad- give the germans a howitzer somewhere to counter the allied beach ownage. Also make PPsHs pickup kits along with some Maxims when you finish it. Ohioan had a good idea to make the boats have more HP. Pavlov- PPsH. that says enough. also the fact theres Brownings in the middle of stalingrad. Could easily be fixed with Ohioans suggestion. Bocage- more bridges, less hills, more tanks. Shit just dump the map and remake it. Breakthrough- Change those FW-190s to to 190A-5s. I've used it on a BFE map and its great. Reminds me of the P40. Coral Sea- its a good map, wish more servers ran it. Maybe make it so your locked in the plane once you get in. It's ruined by bailers and pansies. El Alamein- F2s and 88s would make this map great. Also PIIIs but thats been discussed enough. Fall Weiss- not bad. Its a little long and could use a little downsizing and maybe an extra flag. Gazala- 88s and more tank balancing. Not a bad map though. Guadalcanal-Give the Japs another Val to make up for the tanks or change the Shermans to stuarts. Move the base AA guns to better spots so they can actually cover the airfields. Kharkov Winter- for christ sake use F2s or Stug3Gs or something. Its a horrid map. (Vanilla) Kursk- hasn't this been deleted? it should be. Iwo Jima- I'm not really sure how to fix this one. Its basically just a jap hand weapon crap problem. Drop the ATgrenade kit and put in a suicide kit or something. It would be more useful. Liberation of Caen- played it twice and it seems ok. a bridge would help along with some StG pickups but its not bad. Midway- its ok. Plane fighting is fun but the naval aspects are just not that fun. It could be great with less land flags and more naval warfare. Drastic reduce of the fog would be cool. Omaha 1944- Its ok. When the allies cap that side flag all the spawns from it should be on the shingle. maybe make like 12-14 spawns along it so the axis cant camp them. Charlie Sector- haven't played it enough to comment. Prokhorovka-Ohioans right. Less fog. More tanks. Also less captured T-34s. Those seem to make up alot of the germans arsenal. More tank destroyers and stuff would be cool to. Maybe a flag less would help since it always ends up some last guy running around capping a flag and delaying the battle another 10 mins. I like the map alot though. Saipan and Makin- I haven't played either of these much but I hear they aren't great. Some balancing and crap would most likely fix this. Sorry I can help ya here. The Storm- more axis AA and armor. more and better dug in and positioned AT defenses. something to slow dow nthe movement of those damn Snowmobiles a bit. Change the BF-110 to the one on Crete with the bombs. Wake- I haven't played this much so I can't really help here either. THe only pacific maps I play much are Iwo and Guadalcanal. Zielona Gora- haven't played it since .5 and don't want to. can't help ya there.
