Dr. Schmerzgeber... Well, i also think it is a good compromise now. The Germans called the MG42 "Knochensäge" ("bone saw") because it was actually able to separate parts of the human body... And this aspect is hard to simulate (and not necessary...) :) ...

... I have to correct my statement. It was obviously called "Hitlersäge" (Hitler's saw) by the soldiers instead of "Knochensäge" (bone saw). But the intention was the same  ...

D-Fenscan we please have the correct tripod back... http://mrjs.myrice.com/pp/mg42.jpg

One was ready for .65 but it didn't make it in. I bet we'll see it soon. It does require a new animation though, compared to the U.S. tripod.

hQ.GhostLong and cool story about the MG42 and it's danish twin brother

Okay. Next time I see you online - and I believe I've shot you and have been shot by you today a couple of times, if my memory serves me right, I'll remember not to try to cross that open field when you are manning the MG42 roll%20eyes%20%28sarcastic%29.gif Lots of respect to you that you have actually used this weapon, and want to share your knowledge. Hopefully the FH devs read it too!

Another little interesting tidbit about m42 MGs.

The smartguns carried by characters Gorman and Vasquez in the sci-fi movie "Aliens" are actually based on an m42 frame. Take a look for yourself, next time you watch the movie. You can tell from the distinct shape of the lid and feeding mechanism. ;)
