biznessI don't see how any mod could judge the percentage of how much they have done unless all the mod was for was a few tweaks or something. like said earlier, it makes more sense on having a percentage towards a release rather than the mod in a whole. Even then it would be hard to judge.
Agreed, putting a number on the total mod (FH will never be done) is impossible and even estimating how much is done for the next release is a hard task. Hence why we never get release dates untill a week or so before it get's out.
Probably FH2 never will reach 100%. FH1 had a never ending development, and it has only 'ended' due the release of BF2.
Long life to FH!
first doesnt mean complete...it just means first. could be high quality, and first... but only contain 1 map and 2 vehicles... but hey they are first...
If you are on a long trip to a destination, which you have never visited and for which you have no map, and someone asks "what percentage of your trip have you completed?" Feeling you still have a long way to go, but not really knowing, you shrug and say "I dunno, maybe 10% ?" Don't take numbers like that too seriously, there is no real way to quantify our progress. 10% is just a numerical way of saying "expect to wait a while."
considering most mods have like 20 maps at very max and fh probably has what.... 50-70 id say that makes sense.
oscar989I would like to here an official statement from the devs on how much they have done, if thats not too much trouble?
They can't say it in number because they probably don't know themselves how FH2 is going to turn out. If the devs start promessing all kinds of stuff, there would be big disapointments when in turns out that something isn't in the release.
*sigh, only bad thing about it being released slow (besides me not being able t o play it) is that right when they get to implementing some real cool stuff, a game sequel comes out and everyone flocks to it, and the devs have to start ALL over. not saying that FH .7 is gonna die any time soon, just that there was a definite player # drop when bf2 came out. just sad that alot of people will miss out on some good old fun fh .7 times
I pity those who chose BF2 instead FH 0.7, I really do. Even if FH2 wouldnt have gained one single milestone in its progress, people of this community will wait until its released, no matter if theres Battlefield 5 coming out in a short time. I wait patiently until FH2 releases, its easy when you got a good gaming community on the old platform and when devs keep updating in regular times, the wait is not that horrible. Like myself, I tend to wait for the new updates, rather depressing to the fact that the actual release is so far away.
Yeah the regular updates are enough to tide most people over until an actual release, it's the only way to stave off insanity because everyone knows that FH2 will kick ass.
I'm not so much concerned. FH .7 is a solid release and we still have some room left for the fan map pack and maybe we'll even see a few new maps in that map pack. BF2 is a nice new engine with some new features but the game overall has that lacking feeling, no real staying power and usually the exp packs don't change the picture though I'm sure there's alot of ppl doing cartwheels over the ziplines and night vision, but anyhow BF2 lacks and it's up to the mods to deliver. So given the choice FH . 7 over BF2 at this point, it's a no brainer. FH .7.
I have high hopes for FH2 though it may take a while to develop and release it's first release. The devs have alot of prior experience now with FH1 under their belts, a brand new MDK to work with that is miles and miles ahead of what they had to work with before so I see that as being something that will definately speed up the process but if you think about it it also speeds up the tedious things allowing these guys to focus more time on things that really matter like making the mod better than FH1 ever was which is saying alot. No need to rush things.
