It was suggested in another thread, of a community server with a voting system for wanted maps.
So I dont really think someone would just hand out a solid 64-slot server. So the next best thing we could do was to find a reliable hosting service and donate in order to keep it up running.
To not make myself look cheap im willing to cast out $30 every month myself.
And a 64-slot server would cost about $80 a month or so, so we wouldnt need more than 5 people paying $10 each every month to keep it running.
Tell me what you think.
P.S. This would also be an opputunity to port it to FH2 when it was released.
If it has voting system allowed then the map votes will never end, especially if it's a 64 player server. I think an admin that takes map requests works better.
Ugh, I don't really want a 24/7 Omaha server thanks.
If you are talking for FH1, then we already have one: WOLF.

No it would be a voting system on a specific webpage, and each week you would vote out lets say 4 maps, that being the only ones in rotation, next week you vote for 4 new maps and so on.
I do not think it would work as if it was based in USA most europeans would stick to HSLAN & TDP due to the ping and is it was in EUR then all the USA players would stick to WOLF due to ping. You can't win with this earth its too bloody big ;)

I would seriously like a 24/7 ORIGINAL Omaha server.
Charlie Sector just doesn't do it for me, what happened the the great original?? with the fields in the back and everything? that was awesome.
MG, part of the problem seems to be that people would rather wait to play on a full server than go somewhere empty.
The main issue for me is administration--I _know_ that WOLF and hslan are well-adminned, and usually have members present, with good forums. Not so sure on other servers, and those that I've tried, well, smacktards were rampant.
