crysis seems to be very mod friendly. If I remember correctly they let a few mod teams get their hands on the tools early. I've seen in game shots on MODDB if I remember correctly.

angrygod;3997942african campagn is my least favorite, talk about german onslaught till americans come in and reverse evrything.

That is very inaccurate.

Operation Torch (Kasserine Pass map in FH1) was the first time American troops were confronted with German troops.

It was a military disaster. They didn't know the field, had crappy tanks and most of the troops were very inexperienced. Only later in the campaign, by listening to the advice of the more experienced British troops, the Americans began to improve their situation. Still, when the Americans came to North Africa, Montgomery and the 8th Armoured Division had already broken the backbone of the German forces.

The Americans were the mop up force, they came into deal the final blow, but the British had already sorta won, it's like in halo, when somebody takes your shields all the way down, then one guy across the map finishes you with one shot.

Crysis is an outstanding engine, but maybe it's not the kind of engine for the FH mod: only 32 players, afaik the maps must be islands, etc.

The BF killer (from a FH point of view) has not born yet

I agree about crysis, and for that matter the BF series is the only place where the game play of FH can work IMO. Engine change is outta the question. This thread was more along the lines of "will they only focus on Africa because of the length of time it has taken for a release".

But I have another question for you devs? Have you ever talked to Dice or EA about kinda being swallowed up for a retail release? In EA's eyes why not, it'll cost less than paying a team to develop from scratch since the engine is done, and one front is already done. From Dices eyes...well they don't really have a benefit from it, but hell they can market it as Battlefield 2:Forgotten Hope, or just simply Forgotten Hope. And from your eyes well your team will have the incentive to finish off all theaters, giving you more time, more money, etc. And the best part is that you'll get way more players. Just because its retail. You guys should just try it. EA could sell it as an BF2 Expansion, or just market it as a full standalone using the BF2 engine..I'm not sure how the licenses work, or who you'd have to talk to but its pure money, and more players...

PC gamers need a new WWII MP game...no new good ones coming...BIA MP is giong to suck..as always nuff said. MOH:A is horrible. COD is now modern....whats on the horizon?

mrtywalsh what you said about turning FH into a game is out of the question since the developers of FH are spread around the globe, unlike other modteams like Trauma studios (or whatever their name was) and Snowflake studios.

Every new kid on the block "game" claims this, and claims that, and has all the kiddies saying "cool" at screenshots. Then I try the demo and it blows. The bf games are the only reason I built a rigg, and play pc games. I just hope that I find 20 full rocking and rolling servers that follow the development and release of fh2 theatres. I wont jump to the next money pit of gfx cards either. Not until experienced developers such as the fh crew make the move and show me that the next generation is not a complete ripp off.
