Why have one if you can have both ?

As said above, only because vehicles etc. are portraid realisticly, the map and game dosn´t have to be unbalanced.

And concerning realism: Its far more important that the mod "feels" realistic, rather than actually "being" realistic.

I mean, what approach would you call more realistic ?

A KwK 88 really being able to shoot 2000m or rather just being able to shoot further than most other tanks ?

Both is a "realistic" approach, yet, both lead to very different results.

Both.

Focus at realism but keep balance in mind. This means going for realism but adapt it to the "scale" of this computergame.

Amen to that. FH1 is so incredibly balanced right now the gameplay is phenominal, yet it is still "The most realistic mod of '05" . I don't know, I just have high expectations for FH2 after playing FH1, but I'm not worried one bit that they won't be able to fullfill them. :naughty:

That's kind of a stupid, arbitrary distinction. "balance vs. realism".

How about, "as much of each as possible, while maintaining a fun game"?

I think more or less what everyone else has already said was balls on.....Realism with the gear and balence with the maps.....Make the King Tiger the uber killing machine it is....And give the allies a ton of shermans to flank it with.
