Meadow;4380838...so you can look somewhere without adjusting your aim?
I guess, I'm not much of a find-sweet-spot-and-camp-ATG-repairers kinda tanker. I just thought it's not as useful because of how SLOW the freelook is. Presumably the freelook is my commander head looking out different vision slits which would be very fast compared to tank turret traverse speeds.
I'm all for a commander view where you can unbutton to get a good view. Risk/reward is good game design.
I dont know what you call slow, but the mouselook in tanks for the driver isn't slow! I can do a 360 in 3-4 seconds when I use it.
I didn't make it!
Lobo;4330221Well, we made some advanced research and found out that WW2 tanks had not a camera drone traveling some metters back and up
i dont like 3d view please delete it would be more realistic and i think more fun for us harcore gamers, its a realism game so!!!
i like it as it is now the small mostly unarmed vehicles like trucks jeeps apcs can really use the 3rd person view.
if you drive to close to another vehicles the dust will completely blind you and you cant see where you are driving. they also get a bit more combat awareness which helps them to avoid unlucky confrontations with MGs or Tanks. They are all so vulnerable to MG fire that this helps to protect them from destruction. Is is realistic ? - no ! does it help gameplay ? - yes !
and last but not least i dont think that they get any huge advantage over other players by driving in 3rd person.
btw i mostly drive in 1st person even in the hanomag, i only use external view when needed.

Weird cuz last time I tried freelook it was the EXACT same speed as the tank turret, i.e., very very slow. I'll have to mess with it again.
And I couldn't disagree more about visibility. 3rd person view is this insane unreal advantage for tanks in FH2 that they plain don't need. They already have hive-mind control and immense firepower and armor. They don't need to see the wiley infantryman that ran BEHIND THEM.
