Few things has been bothered me since the BF2 demo when I have been thinking about FH2. I am not whining about BF2, or it's issues. I am not interested in BF2 vanilla anymore, and I am not whining at their forums. The DICE support seems not to be nice. There was a poll at the forums, one bug was that if your Chat message ends with E, you will bail from your vehicle (yes even from an airplane over the sea ;) ) but since it didn't got enough votes it wasn't sent to DICE. Since the naval warfare is possible now, probably the biggest concern that was. The penetration & "destroyable objects", do they really work in FH2? One thing that would have been really nice penetration in vehicles, imagine that pistols can't get through some part of jeep, but .50 cal penetrates it and kills only the driver. Few things: Swimming forever. I really hope this is mod-able. Ah being able to swim in winter with all those equipments is nice. Crosshair in the air ( see the attachment) Guess what color is it? Yes it's red, the most visible cross hair yeah.. But hopefully FH2 won't include any crosshairs. BF2 supports only Unicode; no ä, ö, å, ü, ß in chat or names, tags or anything. This has been really bothering me; I believe most of the FH2 players are European or Chinese or Japanese etc. ( sometimes 64 player server full in Japan...) This is something what I have written some time ago on some BF2 forums:

We got a ridiculous answer "It was a decision to make understanding better"

I can't believe they are removed only due that UK/US players could understand us better.

Can they understand if we speak our language without non-english alphabetics? It didn't seem to bother in BF42 / Vietnam. It doesn't stop us speaking, it's just like "haha idiots this makes it harder" Not "Now you can't speak."

Maybe you should block numbers to avoid "l33t speak" that new players could understand it.

Also I dislike the shadow engine in this game, it will make beautiful FH stuff look not so nice. This image I made from the first week of BF2, as I thought it's just a problem with me. http://www.saunalahti.fi/rikupro/naetitvarjot.JPG It is only a problem with lightning on objects. Some additional things: Spam protection doesn't work multiplayer; you can alsopress Page up or Page down, it also says them if you are dead. Uhm ehm.. I am sure there are plenty of things still; I just can't think all of them now. Say some things here you know. Seeing FH as a great mod, they visited EA; they might have a chance to say some things they dislike about the engine they are modding while DICE still patches BF2. Many of us bought BF2 already just for FH2 already, or FH2 in mind.

EDIT: Yeah the tag thing, just 6 letters, seems that most of the FH clans can't use it [11PzG] 7 letters, [DenLedeFi], [130Pz] , etc none.

Alot of your issues seem hardcoded, the devs probably can't change stuff like nametags, unicode or the "shadow engine".

Yeah well I don't know if modding possibilities are how much better with Python coding and stuff, but if FH devs have some contacts. It's impossible to get that through that BS if you would even be that lucky that DICE would receive it.. What other issues you think FH will have in BF2?

The clan tag thing pissed me off too, now we'll have to have

11PzG

Thankfully theres an automatic space added.

Bf2 just seems rushed, it could have been so much better.

It's good to see I'm not the only one getting those blocky shadows. I've noticed on some mod screenshots though that they havce smooth edges on their shadows. Is this a graphics setting or does it depend on your video card (I have a Radeon 9800Pro)? Cheers :)

I think we just have to trust the devs are going to be a lot more considerate than EA was with the bug testing. Obviously there are some underlying problems with the game and the community, but I think we won't have to worry too much about our FH2 being destroyed by idiots like BF2 was (it was a good game when it first came out...honest!)

Would turning on your anti-aliasing get rid of extremely blocky shadows? I think what it does is smooth the edges of square pixels, if you turn it on x4 or x6 and play for a while, then turn it off and play, you will notice a major difference in pretty much everything that isnt a straight edge.
