The main difference was the Tiger used a muzzlebrake. It was basically a Flak 36 modified for mounting in a vehicle. Later PzGr.39 shells were decreased in power slightly to reduce barrel wear.

I had checked out both of those sites. The second link says the Flak 88 was 810 m/s then 800 m/s. I have a book that says the same thing for the Tiger muzzle velocity. The muzzlebreak is designed to redirect gasses and reduce recoil. Any idea how much effect the muzzlebrake had on muzzle velocity? JTM

I belive the Germans need a Pak 36(r) on Desert Maps (and others as well). The gun itself was a Soviet F-22 model 1936 field gun rechambered in German 75mm and with an added muzzle break. This 75mm gun would have enough punch to knock out Allied Tanks in the Desert but will have a low profile unlike the Flak 18/36. Also it would be good to knock out two birds with one stone and give the Russians an early war arty piece and the Germans an AT gun/arty piece.

But know im unsure, cause on serval differnt web pages i saw differnt numbers for the weight of the pzgr 39 projectile. so.. im confues... :'(

you're always confused, unless gay sex is involved... (dont ask)

The germans do need a light AT gun for the desert, but the Pak40 did see some action there if i remember correctly. IMO, they need to move the location of AT guns on all maps to better their chances of killing a tank.
