I LIKE BIG TEXT TOO Well that is because the planes fly so low, as for AA flak not taking out planes, your probably not aiming in the right spot(not leading the target in the right spot), I've gotten kills with AA flak. For infantry thats your problem.

wait, youre trying to shoot down planes using the AT shell, and hit infantry with the AA shell? or do you have it switched? If you dont, theres your problem. winkx.gif

He's asking why (from his experience) the flak gun is more efficient in taking out airplanes while in anti-tank mode rather than anti-air mode.

And big text is good for the eyes. Seriously.

The blast damage radius of the shell explosion is far to small in AA mode ofcourse, that is probably what you mean. FLAK shells are fragmentation shells so they should be lethal to infantry and soft vehicles quitte a range around point of detonation.

Maybe if it did have that, it would be too powerfull against aircraft.

For one the sights are off on the 88's, but of course if your firing at a distance like Gazala. You have to aim to the right of the target a bit, don't put the crosshairs directly in the middle of target you will miss it. Other than the AA it isn't very effective right now, it is easyer to bring down a plane with the AT. Plus the sheild blocks alot of the veiw while trying to switch to different inside views. Would be nice on maps that they are used only in an AA format to remove the shield, but hey you already no the answer to that.

True flak AA is very good at taking out infantry, keep in mind the shell does not land at the crosshairs at close range.

FlaK 88 shells were lethal to planes if they burst within 25m.....and they can still damage planes with shrapnel from 200m away.

In my experinces you need a perfect hit to plane if you want to take it down. The damage in 88 seems to be same as in 40mm Bofors. Atleast in 0.65, haven't used it much against planes in .66.
