Ok, I posted this in the suggestions section. However, I got no response, except for a few people's opinions on legal issues.
I don't know if any of you have heard of this CD, but it is outstanding: http://www.tomahawkfilms.com/soundsof.html It's practically a WWII audio library. It contains actual recorded weapon firing from 1939-1945! Not only that, it has entire battle sequences; perfect for background audio. Over 75 tracks, this thing is awesome! Best of all...I just ordered it! If you'd like, I'd be happy to share this with you! You can't get it in the States, unless you want to pay well over $100 bucks! I got it for just £14.95! WOW, what a deal! Right, anyways, what do you think?
I think that the "opinions on legal issues" are pretty valid in this case. That's a legitimate publication and using the sounds from that CD, without any permission, could be considered plagarism or infringement of copyright.
If the devs got the permission of the publishers, it might make a good addition for the realism mod. I have no clue weather or not that will be possible though.
Uh...I never meant that those opinions were invalid, I just meant I was hoping for a bit more....official answer. After all, I'm just want to help!
it would have worked had you "secretly" gave it to them. now the cat is out of the bag
Damn! It's happening again!
teh HOWSE OF RATH???
Good question Lightning; I'm not sure when it will come in. Should be pretty soon, or I've got some asses to kick!
Can't yer just ask the publishers? If its for a non-profit purpose they most likely will not mind, but they still need teh askin.
I would PM one of the devs about it. At least you might get a response then...
Good points, both of you. I don't want to PM the Devs if I don't have to though. If we just keep this thread jumpin', someone'll come look.
