It looks real pretty, but is too small for decent gameplay. Once a Soviet soldier gets to grey the Finnish flag, there's no coming back for them. Or if the Finns get the Stuka Zu Fuss (don't think we used any of those irl, btw) aimed at Soviet base in time and grey their only flag, it's over for them.

This map needs some serious tweaking, and even after that, it just doesn't cut it for Finns.

tvih:eek: Sounds cool :naughty: What armor did you put in for Finns? Pz747(r) and StuG? Dunno what's even available for the Finns, since as far as I know they've been made separate from the Germans now. Damn, if we could only get the T-34 and T-34/85 in Finnish colors.. ;)

Sorry but im not saying anything yet until the results of the contest are out. But i say that Tali-Ihantala has some small unique things in addition for FH. ;)

I've seen it go both ways, and it isnt over if one side manages to grey the other side's flag at all. I've seen the Finn beats back the Russians after they dug in on the outpost and recapture to win through their boat landings several times. Perhaps the only tweaking needed would be extending the gap between trenches and adding maybe one between them to give more running ground, but not making it any wider then it is already. Sorta like Hurtgen Forest

I think a big part of it depends on the size of your server. The current map would probably be great for at most 40 people. Anything above that and it'll be over VERY quickly and will be MUCH harder to come back from losing your one cappable flag.

I like the slow crawl from trench to trench, using cover to get there, while other teammates try to pin down the enemy and kill the guys they're sending out to your base, but with just two flags and what appears to be, oh, about 300m between them, the map can end up with baseraping WAY too easily. While it's POSSIBLE to come back and cap a flag, by that point, you're usually down considerably in the number of tickets you've got left, which results in a win by attrition for the other side.

If the Finns could have the option of capturing two flags rather than the one that ends up rather well protected it would go better. This would make the map wider which would be good.

Maybe if there was a good map with Finns they would be more represented. Karelia is horrid for pub play. Its one of the least fun maps to play I know of. Too many problems to list.

Plus its not like Finns actually have their equipment. Pystykorva?(Mosin) Suomi?(PPsH) Lahti? (Nambu) could be substituted with existing stuff with new skins.. but right now Karelia sucks hardcore and no servers run it because their servers turn empty after 20 minutes of 14 guys camping the beach with MGs raping any wooden POS landing craft to come near.

This map was a cool design and is one of the best looking maps I've ever seen. It plays horribly though, no matter what side you are on. Increase the play area by 3x, add a land bridge for the Stugs to get across... and some more flags. Then it would be fun.
