It’s beautiful, a lot of new content and improved visuals. I, for one, am not to hurt by the performance loss as I can see the visual quality has increased a lot. Flight physics is much better also. Unfortunately, for me anyway, it's where it stops.:(
Problem is, there was more content than any other MOD by far before 0.65. The visuals were already stunning. People were not complaining so much about content but about sounds, bugs/glitches, errors, CDT’s, balance, LAG… This MOD has always had such potential and such fantastic content but with every release the game is just not polished enough to create the player base it deserves. I’m sorry to say it but the team of FH MOD has a lot of work to do, to make 0.65 something I’ll play seriously. I also miss some of the the FH maps that were removed, seems like work gone to waste.
As I’m part of another MOD myself I completely understand the need to add new content and not worry about polish. But there is a catch, nobody has actually played FH as much as DC or EOD for example. Not worrying because they’re different scenarios set in different times. Worrying because with such a talented team this MOD should attract a much, much larger player base. So at some point the public’s time needs to be won. For that at some point there is a need for a near-perfect polished version. Why did EOD with such small content attract such a sizeable player base at just 0.31? Because sometimes quality is better than quantity. I believed 0.65 to be the version that finally got me playing FH properly but sadly it is not. With such large downloads I fear I, and a lot more people might loose faith if future versions will follow past trends.
Next version needs polish, polish and more polish. New content we’ve had plenty of already. FH team is more than capable of achieving this I'm sure.

FH is a very well polished mod... the skins are gorgeous and historically accurate. the firearms from vanilla have been removed and replaced with better modeled and more realistic ones. balance has been thrown out the window because this is a realism mod, and realism and balance dont go well together. the maps are historically accurate, and gorgeous too.
the reason .65 lagged last night was because we had the 56k guys with their DVDs playing with us. shit, even wolf got over 300 ping. ftn and 130th were so lacking in any lag that it was like i was playing single player.
i personally would rather play with 300 great players like me than thousands of noob 10 year olds that whine about the Tiger being unbalanced.

You have to be careful though. In real life, the idea was to create a battlefield situation as unbalanced as possible, where the other side would rather not play. Ideally, no-one from the opposing team would show In a game, you have to make it so that people want to play, and on either side, so a certain amount of balance will always be needed.
but the devs are not going to make an omaha map where the allies get body armor and sniper kits, nor a bocage with a pershing or tiger.
my idea of balance is this: it sucks, ill go for realism over balance anytime. ill go so far as to say that the m26 should be in okinawa, fighting ha-gos.

USMA2010, those are strong opinions and I respect them. But be honest, they are also very individual opinions. The battlefield world is much bigger then 300 people and I was trying to look at the bigger picture...

I, for one, support balance but not on a unrealistic way like vanilla (ie Tiger = M10) but in another way (1 Tiger = 5 Shermans). By balancing with numbers it keeps the game realistic and at the same time balanced. I'd like to see (if possible) a Allies:Axis ratio in Omaha Beach so the Auto-balance programs always make it so there are more players in Allies than in Axis as it was in real war. Just my 2$ cents
D-Fens perhaps I din't explain myself well enough, by polish I mean less of these: sounds problems, bugs/glitches, errors, CDT’s, balance issues, LAG… You see I was going to test some maps and make a report on the above but there were to many and i lost the will, in all honesty. Online it got worst and I had often CDT's and localized LAG on a number of occasions. So I decided on a generalized thread that gave my overall view, rather than ranting about individual things.
