Walker42I think the mod would do alot better if it was seperated into seperate "Campaign" mods to bring the size down. 1.65gb is just way to big for a mod that most gamers see as "like bf1942" but more realistic. As a previous poster said, DC, EOD, and GC are completely different time periods then bf1942, and attract others more due to the difference. If the game was seperated into North Africa, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Pacific Campaign mods. The download file size would decrease drastically, and new players might not be so intimidated on giving it a shot. Then once they get a taste for it, and realise how great it is, they might download another campaign.

That was actually a very good suggestion! You should post it in the suggestions-part of this forum ;)

I'd like to see updates more often but with less new content. Seems like it's a whole different game after every release. Start doing more balance and bug-fix releases with a goodie here and there.

Cheers, Mick

I agree 100%

I think this is one of the reasons why DC was such a hit. They kept everyone interested with small but regular releases.

Krazy Kommandowhy does everyone seem to care so much about sounds??? sounds can wait, there are already so many new sounds in game. there are more important things to do at the moment, ie fixing bugs, random disconnect issues, and some sounds not working

several reasons, for instance: 1) the visual experience is already stunning. but in order to enjoy this properly we also need a stunning sound backing it up. try watching any movie without sound - most of them would make you pick up your news paper (hmm - do anyone actually read those anymore?) instead. vanilla didn't care much about visuals, authentisity or sounds. (they only cared about ca$h! :P )

2) the BF42 engine has a horrible sound system. therefor a good code is needed to make it perform adequately. FH does apparently not have optimized sound code, as sounds drop out, fps drops with certain big-event sounds, etc.

you say it yourself.... "some sounds not working", mg-sounds dropping out, etc.

There's more than enough content in FH at present, they need to spend some time optomising everything and cleaning up. There's no point having 5000 tanks, 200 planes, 304435345435 weapons, if half of them handle dodgily, the game boots you to desktop on every Pacific map and 2/3s of the sounds don't work.

Visually, and content wise, FH is stunning, I'll keep playing it and keep supporting it, but they need to focus less on "MORE MORE MORE" and more on "lets look at what we've got".

I have faith that they will do this though, and not now vanish for another 8 months for a 3gb release in spring.

Just add the few most requested vehicles (like Pz3) and then work on bugfixing, optimizing the code and balancing the maps and some weapons stats...

when i said "why does everyone seem to care so much about sounds???", i ment why do ppl care so much about 50cal machine guns sounding crap and that the k98 sounds are crap? optimizing the sounds so that they actually work when they are needed wasnt what i ment by that question, i hate it that the tank MG's dont work. nothing more annoying than firing a weapon and there be no sound.

I'll tell you a funny story. At release 5 I made a thread with my test report for a FH map, my idea was that everyone could test a map and post their findings it's will be a lot of help. I myself found a few bugs in the Alaskan map, one of which was: "At the middle flag high up in the mountains the jeep spawn location makes it glitch with the rocks (rear of jeep is inside rocks) and the jeep is not still, it "twitches". There were I think another 10 or so things I found, including reloading bomber on enemy carrier, spawning plane that keeps exploding, and visual glitches. By the next major release about half of the total of things I found were fixed. I made another thread expressing my surprise that after 6 months in developement the next FH had an increddible amount of new content but not completely fixed 10 little problems. No developer responded and a lot of people on the forums gave me grief. "How dare I conplaing about 5 little things on one map when FH gives us so much new content?" Simple "You might want to fix what you have rather than add more content, it's common sense... Here is the funny bit, a year later after my thread of 10 little problems on Alaskan map the jeep still "twitches". It's a simple thing and although not very noticeable it's the principle of the matter really. If on one map it took a year to fix 10 minor problems, not even all of them, consider how much content FH has and just how many things that need attention could be. Bottom line is this I've played it since release trying to make myself like it because I've been waiting for it for so long but I just don't like it. Can't help it, every corner there is something that's not quite right. After so long in developement and all the updates stating just how much testing is being done to bring us a "perfect" release, I find it quite pathetic really. I'd have been a lot happier with releases in between that just fixed everything before moving to the next major build, but no, for 6 months play something that not right and 6 months later the same thing. Last note and I hope this hits a nerve. At release 5 a lot of people were waiting for the next FH release, since then more and more people I tell about it don't care. In another 6 months how many people do you think will care about FH? Most people asked about FH say "Oh yeah, a lot of things, impressive screenshots!" before release. After release "I just can't get on with it, it crashes, lags and has very poor FPS. Not to mention a number of things don't quite add up...". What's with all the maps being dropped/added and the huge changes in ballance, physics from release to release. I wonder it the developers themselves know what they want...
