If anything, you should upgrade and get more ram.

With 512 Mb, loading times like those are considered normal in Forgotten Hope.

Get 1 gig of ram, loading is shorter and you don't have to wait after the map is finally loaded for the lag to die down.

hi noni, i have a 2.4, 1000 ram and a radeon 9800 and my computer runs all games well but I still have some choppiness on some maps even with a fast cable connection, however, it might be better if i lowered the detail, can you do that for just FH?

Anything other than getting ram? my dad wont let me get anythin- yea i know it is like Ā£40 too :( Hurlass i dont want to do that, i love the graphics, lowering them will be ugly :( I just hate it when i join a server and then theres 9 mins left of the game..... i gota wait for the map to load and stuff aaaaaaallllll over again :( thanks for the replies

i agree with you noni, i like to play games with high resolution and i often play the vanilla version of bf42 and then i try to play battlegroup 42 mod which includes a lot of weapons but it runs somewhat smoother due to the maps being a little less intricate than FH. FH is a great mod and the most experienced players, I may try to run the game in 16 bit and lower the resolution to see what happens,

How long does a map take to load? Also, reduce the sound settings

@7 then I'm afrait you'll have to get used to it :( There is no other way of making bf load faster than getting more ram. I'm sure you've already tried shutting down everything running in the background ?
