Most of the time I play as a squad leader, so with a SMG, but I didn't notice any problem with the riflemen and crosshairs (except a few junk dolphin divers) ; in close-combat they hardly match a SMG, at longer range they have the advantage. And when I'm using a rifle I'm only firing with cross hair at really short range or to make a suppression shot to get the time to crouch then aim, but mainly I'm naturally using the iron sight, although I was thinking in the FH1 times I would not like the iron sight, but I just have to admit it's intuitive (in FH2, BGF's aiming is just f***ed up). And to illustrate how FH2 is feeled as too arcadey by many veterans : my clan, the 79th SC, used to gather 25 FH1 hardcore players. ATM, I'm almost the only one to still play FH2. The others are playing PR, Red Orchestra and FH1, waiting and hoping for the patch enhancing the mod.

Only machineguns create a suppression effect.
I meaned a safety shot, not blurring the oponent.
also keep in min that the new recoil for almost all weapons comming in next patch will change handling of smgs a lot no more spray and pray (well you can pray but i doubt god will hear you) for distances above the usual "i cant miss him" distance you WILL use iron sight or you WONT hit the single fire mode on the thompson is also very usefull now, as squad leader i often play with single fire mode on to make the few bullets i got count
That's nice, back to FH1 times where the main weapon is the rifle, ruling the battlefield.
Sorry for revining an old thread, but will the depth of field shader be in the upcomming patch?

Yes, it will.
