So we have reviewed the artillery today and have some suggestions: 1. A marker should be shown on the map for spots beeing called in by spotters to warn nearby teammates. Maybe also playing a warningssound for artillery. 2. Reduce teamkillscore for artillerygunners since its not their fault if teammates suddenly run into an ongoing barrage. 3. When practising sequential fire you cannot see your teammates nearby gun firing a shell at the same time as you fire or sometimes at all. Maybe a bug? 4. The 25 QF should rotate on its lafettering and the LeFH 18´s front wheels should be forming an inverted V when deployed. 5. Heavy mortars should be able to fire smokeshells. Check also some maps since some mortars are placed benneath cammonets. 6. Targets called in for arty should not switch to the latest target called, instead only inform the player that other targets are available. 7. The sounds of the commanders artillery impact should sound older than this modern one and the artillerybarrage should be slower. 8. The commanderradio inside a building should not get destroyed by a barrage outside the building.

Dzanic;4710502 1. Autoswitch should give you the possibility to choose team in the beginning of a battle and afterward forbid to switch to any other team so that friends can play in the same team. 2. You should recommend to servers to dissable Punkbuster. It has caused more trouble than solved problems and according to Wikipedia kicked more innocent people than cheaters. Gameexperience gets also a better quality when PB is dissabled. Punkbuster is one of the decades worst programes ever invented. It is not capable of updating itself requiring precious time and also know-how from the player. I assume that servers wihtout PB will have 10% to 20% more people playing on them.

1 - Im guessing its hardcoded anyway, however say a friend joins my server and I want to play in a squad with him, I dont see why we should be disallowed to play on the same team for a round. Teamswitching has never really been a huge problem for bf2 imo.

2 - Yes but one person who gets kicked, updates his pb jumps back in the server is not really much to complain about, 1 cheater can clear a server out.

Well then you obviously havent been fucked by PB. I mean its far more complicated than that. Even if you do everything as punkbuster wants you to do it still can cause problems. Of course one cheater can clear a server out but today there are people accusing other people of cheating if they get a highscore anyway and dont you sometimes think the guy with the highest score is abusing bugs or maybe even cheating in some way? And one more thing I have finally managed to solve. The reason why it often happens that people drop bombs on the runway and kill themselves and others.. The viewsystem is very unstructured and somewhat unorganised. The "X"-button means in tanks to switch view while it in AT and AA guns is the right mousebutton I believe. Well that is a serious problem if you are going to jump into a plane and then think that you have to press rightmousbutton to switch view. The solution is to either introduce a safetyfeature that doesnt let you drop bombs while the canopy is open or simply generalize and standardize the viewbuttons for all weapons so that X is always "change view".

Isn't it?

Today I have checked the different sounds in different situations and would like to recommend following to get more authentic sound into the mod: 1. The sound of tanks turretraverse sounds a bit uninspired and maybe too modern. Having a metallic-sound for handcurbled traverse, and electric sound for vehicles using electric motors to traverse and hydraulic-pump-sound for tanks that treverse with hydraulic pumps like the Tiger would be nice. 2. The enginesound of the gasoline-eninges running and on idle are excellent for german tanks. Many allied tanks have a very flat and boring enginesound (except the Stuart, although repetitive). The Shermans dieselengine should sound more like a dieselengine and its start and idle too. See following link for more information.. YouTube - Sherman tank M4 105mm engine starting

Dzanic;42799611.] The German language is badly translated and the accent talked is too modern for the german spoken in the 40's.

It would reaaaally help to remove the "OKAY!" from the possible Yes Answers at the german side. No german until 1980 would have said "okay". Its a very new word in germany which we adapted from the american GIs, i think.

I always got a strange feeling in my stomach when i hear my comrades on the battlefield say OKAY!

Its the same with the word "COOL". But gladly this word isn't appearing in the game. Also the voice of the commander sounds kind of... nah. I would like to hear some kind of prussian officer sitting at the controls and saying short and important commands.

The voices you speak of were removed in 2.15, replaced with BF1942's more pantomimey but apparently accurate ones.

Are you guys playing the newest version of the mod 2.15? The voice commands are now the BF1942 commands and not the BF2 modern commands.

There shouldn't be an "OKAY" command for Germans anymore because that was part of the modern BF2 commands IIRC.

Unless you guys are playing singleplayer mode? If that is the case, perhaps the voice commands in singleplayer have not been changed yet because most/all the changes for singleplayer for 2.15 never made it into the patch due to technical issues on the side of the dev who made those changes for singleplayer.

Voices are set in the init.con, which is outside the gamemodes (cq, coop, sp). Its the same for all versions of the same map.
