Class limits are a *bad* idea, what is a team suppost to do whent the ones with the AT kits are completely clueless/n00bs/or afk. oh, even better. Mr AT is flying a plane. BAD IDEA!

I really, really miss mines. A selectable class with mines is INCREDIBLY important for organized play, like WaW. On some of the new maps, there are chokepoints that would be EXCELLENT to mine, but nobody has them, so tanks roll through unmollested. Having mines only in rare pick-up kits or extremely rare vehicles is CERTAINLY not good enough.

My 2 cents Give the Engineer a couple mines and a deployable limited ammobox (should be easy, they drop out of planes). Mines are NOT as abusive as in earlier versions. Before, you could 'throw' them out ahead of you. Now, if I'm correct, they drop straight down.

Leave the Satchels for Tank hunters/Sappers

Wrenches? Well, I think they are an essential dynamic in the game, if unrealistic. If you wanted, decrease the speed at which they repair even further. I can see Engineers and Tank Commanders/Crew having wrenches, no big deal.

I agree, couldn't the engineer class have the random loadout? Half get mines others get satchels? Satchels are great, but they are an offensive weapon. Mines are needed to deter the enemy. Without defenses like mines, you lose a big element of war...

no not a Random loadout since maybee if you chose the Engi class you wanna destroy tanks i would get kinda dissapointed if i got some crappy mines instead ..

Why don't add the satchel/mine random thing and add 1. a 1 sec delay for the mine to appear and 2. you can only place mines while crouching. And one more thing about random weapons: I think, it would be a good idea to make some classes spawn with random weapons, especially in a few scenarios where some of the armies have supply problems - not every soldier got the full loadout because of weapon shortages...especially with the more "modern" weapons (Stg 44!). Or maybe have ATs spawn with AT rifle sometimes. This doesn't limit them in their purpose, but it makes you adapt to what you get - and this is realism IMHO...

Also, can you code a mine to stop killing your team mates? I know it's unrealistic but some jerk always runs over my mines and kills himself even in a slow vehicle. It's just plain frustrating. Or at least make the lighter vehicles of the team like the trucks and jeeps go through unmolested.

If you are just fed up with getting constantly owned by noobs you are barking at the wrong tree.

Don't be so presumptuous. My concerns regarding class limits have nothing to do with being a "newb" or "getting owned." I would just like to see a realistic distribution of weapons, without having them toned down in order to preserve gameplay.

It has everything to do with them. You don't need to impose class limits if the class distribution is already realistic.

Sorry, I misread "ratio" as radio...and somehow imagined "messages" after it. I was really sleep deprived when I posted that yesterday.

If the enemy masses tanks at a location, you mass anti-tanks weapon to counter them.

Why would it be whoring to equip oneself with an anti-tank weapon when there are tanks around?

A PIAT for every man? I don't think so.

For the last time, BF doesn't support such player numbers that you could have a realistic amount of infantrymen for every tank. Even if every infantryman selects a faust the ratio will still be favor of the tanks if compared to the historical situation. If the Axis send 6 tanks over the Arnhem bridge, it would not be irregular in real life either for the Allies to station 18 tank killers to defend. Get it?
