Meh, Kro, the devs always get like this when we start discussing their actual work ethics (if you can call them that ;)). Just take it lightly and try to take it humorously. It has absolutly nothing to do with your forum experience. Everyone has to start somewhere right?
KroWell, this quote springs to mind "I am this close to battering some of you people with some lead piping, I wish I had some EA style lawyers to come down and analy abuse you lot" said Montoya just after referring to my question.
that was aimed at the overly critical community as a whole, *shrug*, hence the "you lot" but are you trying to tell me that you took my threat to have lawyers anally penetrate you seriously and as offensive? oh please. if i was actually pissed off, i would have not reduced to sexual or violence based insults, I have far too many big words to use. but it also considered good policy to read the forums before posting to them incase of retreading old ground, not that half the "make finland!" people notice :)
Look, we all love the mod and appreciate the time and effort you guys put into it. However, it seems to be a widely held view that 1 bugfix now is worth far more 10 models and 2 bugfixes later. Sometimes we are a bit strong in our wording, but really the current map crashes are wreaking havoc on map rotations and server populations across the board! Maybe a lot of people are busy enjoying DC final at the moment, but there is a distinct decline in players lately and I wouldn't be surprised if we can trace it to the fact that a large portion of the awesome FH maps do not work reliably. And let me tell you it is really frustrating trying to set up clan matches and work around the useless maps since it leaves us with mainly vanilla maps or unsuitable, unbalanced maps (like Omaha) to choose from.
wtf! more like vocal minority... .66 is coming and they need time to get it ready. As far as I can gather most pople prefere new content, such as maps and new vehicles or remomving bugs.
You cant forget this is a beta and reaching the planned level content comes before polish- why? because adding something new can upset everything else that been done. It doesn't do any good spend an inordiante amount of time bug-fixing (of which they alreayd do a lot of) when there still things that will be added.
Most people would rather try a new map and essentually help beta-test it, then wait for a map that still could have serious problems. And as I said before it doesn't do any good to try and balance or do extreme bugfixng when content still needs to be added.
Its not fair to be hyper-critical for missing the bug, because it was toally unexpected even after extensive testing. Also, they had to deal with replaning a lot of mercilss content from the last release, not to mention all the new stuff and maps.
Umm... No people want the bugs sorted out now. Didn't you read that poll before it was locked? Whatever, nobody here presumes to think they can "make" the devs do anything, however it is a free world and we are free to tell them what we'd like to see... Namely a bugfix patch in a hurry. Oh well, I hope they haven't taken too much offense to the latest postings but really I don't see what the big deal is with people giving them feedback on what we want!
Ah not quite, that was just over that particualr damage system.. The comments within were written to be somehwat biased, as they were not neccisarily true to the poll question. If the poll question had been pz3 with a more accurate selction things would turn out different. Given that there are several recent threads complaining about damage it shows the contradicotry nature even that task. The final solution is that each release for a beta is best if its a balance of new content and fixes, either extreme will cause tend to cause problems. Im not telling you that you cant express your opinion, hell everbody does that, its just that at this point it come across as a demand becaue the main bug issues are well known and being worked on. Also, just as many people 'demand' new game content as the main priority that 'must' be in. The result is that each patch has been, and will likely continue to be a balance between these.
Dam, that was quite a read.
The infamous meanderings of a suggestion thread in the FH forums, the highs - the lows, the kiss and make up then back to the hurt feelings again, the suggestion tangents, even a little comic releif...it's got 'em all. Quite a journey.
Of all the stuff, my effort is quite miserable.....instead of adding a bombing axis fighter I'd rather see less allied bombers. I liked it better when the allied fighters were just fighters, adding bomb load changed the balance.
Other than that I agree that most people take the time to sift through three pages of FH soap because they care and they do feel like they want to contribute and they do feel that they do make a difference, and that the .001% that make a comment regarding the integrity of the Dev team is no better than the in game TK'er, just a moronic cell that is simply not worth the web space the tread takes up. Don't let them get to you, that is after all what jerks them off.
I think a lot of individuals don't realize that this IS a beta, and that WE are the beta testers and that the whole idea is to get it right by 1.0. All this nonsense about "testing it before it is released", we are testing it it...you are testing it, get with the program...it's not supposed to be perfect!
Still lovin' it.

 NOW THAT PUTS IT INTO PERSPECTIVE FOR NOT ONLY THE PLAYERS BUT HOPEFULLY FOR THE DEVS.
