...that reminded me why I'll always play it.

I joined a squad that was titled "ARTILLERY" and thought it might be fun to do some hit and miss spotting. What I got instead was a kick ass couple of guys that really knew what they were doing.

I acted as a mobile spotter in the field while 2 guys got on guns in Sidi Rezig. The sheer speed and accuracy of these guys on arty was astounding, and we were able to give on demand artillery spotting to hold back several German capped bases.

We did this for the next three maps, kicking total ass in each one. It was such a great gaming moment that I had to post it somewhere. I'm beginning to see a seasoned online community rise again in FH2, much like FH1 had at the end. This excites me, because it's only a shadow of what's to come!

Anyone else had moments like this where you just smiled and said "Yes! This is what it's about"?

Hehe, that's why I love FH2. Because when you get down to it with some friends (or really just damn good teammates) everything falls to place, it's amazing.

I love when team mates say "thx lad" or "nice one, good job" after taking out a tank with a stuka that was holding a crucial point. Just makes me say "oh yeah...":smokin:

Sadly, I've only had one moment like this online. It was Bardia, as the British. I got in the 3" mortar. There was a whole squad of excellent spotters on there. I just quickly fired rounds and racked up the infantry kills. I asked for a supply drop; the commander gave it to me. Someone brought me an ammo truck once. Artillery is somehow the most satisfying form of killing in FH2...It's just that feeling of "I know it looks pretty boring from here, but silently, somewhere kilometers away, digital enemies are dying because of this..." I don't know why I like it so much

I once took out a whole squad hiding on a rooftop with the mortar on Hyacenth... but it was a freindly squad :(. I miss judged the minimap and when they respawned on their hidden squadleader into my view i assumed them enemy spawning at the flag.... nuked them and was instantly auto kicked for negative score. I had to go back in and apologize.... and stay away from the arty for a round or two . Not exactly a shining moment, and i'm sure my blunder had quite the opposite effect on them as your moments of glory with arty had on you :).

Had a really fun game of Desert Rose on FH1 today, i was in the house near the axis base spotting tanks going to and fro the axis base, and watched them get hammered by a really good artillery man. We go so many kills, and ended the round by defeating the germans 1000+ to 0

When I get in an infantry squad that knows what they're doing, SL that smokes as we advance. Makes me warm and tingly inside :>

Even better when you have a squad leader who's prepared to give a plan of attack - "xxx provide cover from left building, yyy and zzz advance to right building" or even just "attack from left slope", really gives the squad a sense of unity and capability.

And it works so much better than people who charge off into the distance, and get casually shot by a half decent rifleman. (Not that I don't mind the enemy doing that, it sure racks up my kills :nodding:)

Indeed.

Hell yeah! I've been the terror in the skies once or twice on El Al. So satisfying to hear my Fireteam Leader shouting that their pinned down on Kidney Ridge, and then 10 seconds later VROOOM ::divehorn:: BOOM!!! And I get thanks from like 7 people, some who aren't even in my squad. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Doesn't happen too often but it's nice when it does.

I try to do this, but my VoIP is shitty and usually doesn't work. Giving orders by text is a pain in the ass... Although once on Tobruk as Germans, I got a squad of WOLFers who were on TS (which works for some reason, but not VoIP). I gave a general order to advance to the downed JU52 and wait for me. Eventually everyone got to the plane, and with a little help from an HE round from a random tank that killed an MG, I smoked a path into the first trench, spammed "Go, Go, Go!" and sprinted into the trench. We lost one or two guys, but they respawned on me. We waited for our sprint meter to refill and did it again. Smoke, "Go, Go, Go!", sprint all the way to the flag. I proceeded to gun down some defenders with my MP40, while my squadmates bayoneted the oblivious AT gunners and MGers. We capped the flag and held it until the rest of the team spawned up. Unfortunately, it was too little too late and we only got one other flag before our tickets ran out. Fun none the less.

Again, I'd love to be able to do this, but my VoIP is screwed up. It's weird though, because my brother says it works fine on Vanilla (maybe I should try it on a server other than WOLF). Oh well. Hopefully I'll get it working soon and then I'll be the best Fireteam Leader ever! OK, maybe not, but at least I won't be clueless and go charging off with a jeep while my squadmates are left to walk across the sand.

Yay! Teamwork!
