I was there when we did this though, be careful with the beauxfighter, you'll get clipped by the plane unless its flying upside down as you bail out lol. Other than that, make sure to hit 9 and don't go splat :P

I loved doing LANOs on the pacific maps in FH'1942. Just fly close to the water and jump out.

Nope in a freefall you'll be at more or less the same speed whether you deploy 20-30s after jumping or 20-30s before you land... biggest danger with a halo jump is opening too late or having a chute failure ( not much time do deploy reserve ).

The thing is it usually takes time to slow yourself down from terminal velocity of a human to one with a chute, you just use the min distance for a halo I guess.
