Problem is grease mate: those mg 34s/42s are the squad support variety with a 75 round drum magazine which ...is in fact realistic. There are just 2 MAJOR problems with them: There are FAR too many of them and I very much doubt you could run along firing them full auto (implement DoD style recoil for the mgs while standing up...)

Why not just remove those MGs with bipods and improve the replaceable ones with tripods, for example by adding different height tripods.

Ok Killa, I see where you're going. Problem is, even if they are the squad support varients, they still require two men to use them, and a solid base to fire from. These things weigh a ton. I've just got off a server where people run around like maniacs with them, as soon as they see an enemy troop they just spray the whole 75 rounds or hit the floor to make the cross-hair reduce in size, the later being a bit of an exploit. It's like the German varient of a .30cal, so if we have total MG42 spammers why not have .30cal spammers too? Because all the above rules apply to the .30cal as well, so I dont see why we should have them in.

It's goddamn annoying, and that's putting it nicely.

Like MkH^ said, they should just remove the bipod versions and improve the ones with tripods. It feels at times that everyone forgets this is World War II, MG's were not exactly given out to the majority of soldiers. In fact, there was only one MG'er per company in most cases but they were specially trained to use them. Experience WWII got the right idea and gave every class access to a rifle, as it should be. They reduced the access to automatic weapons and it didnt effect gameplay at all.

Anyway, minor rant over. Carry on. :D
