How "set" is BF'42 ?
Would it be posible to add say some kind of tired effect like you run for X distance and then you have to wait X amount of time before you can run again ?
Add occasional weapon jams ?
Have ammo resupply crates only give certain ammo ie... grenades or small carriable ammo boxes ?
Passengers being able to shoot from jeeeps or the top of tanks etc.. ?
Could it support flame weapons throwers or molatov cocktails ?
Could you have off map artillaery/rockets that a spotter could call in ?
Could you have a bayonet on a rifle and have it be an alt melee attack instead of a knife ?
Could it be set up so that it takes 2 people to set up/use a deployable machinegun or mortar or 1 person could run back and pick up ammon for said weapon ?
the first two would be ridiculously frustrating
ammo resupply is already limited in some ways
not possible with bf1942
flamethrowers have been looked at, i think they'll be in a future version from what i remember
yes
yes
it would be quite easy to implement one guy deploying an mg and one guy deploying an ammo source next to him, but realistically i don't think the deployable mgs are used enough so making them more tricky to use is not a good idea

DAMN THOSE AMMO BOXES AND THEIR LIMITED PANZERFAUSTS!!!
Actually, I have a friend right now who is working on coding a feeder position for MGs in XWW2. Basically, it is rather simple. You add a position to the MG. Then, you make it so without someone in the other postion, the weapon "jams" or the belt "tangles" whatever, by making the overheat go up after just a few shots, say 4 or 5. BUt, if someone is in the position, then it is normal overheat. It is all about cupoling the positions. He says it will take some time, but when he gets it done, man it will be fun. ALso, FInnwars already has Molotovs and Flame tanks, which work extermly well. Also, FInnwars has off the map art, you find a radio pick up kit, and you have 3 calls of 15 shells in a row, then it recharges the calls, but very very slowly. 1918 has bayonets for the rifles, and so does XWW2. Shooting out vehicles in BFV, not BF1942. The other two won't work on te BF1942 or BFV engines.

These two are implemented already in the Finnwars MOD. And they work very well. Should be doable in FH as well. By the way, I've lately switched almost entirely to playing Finnwars. Why? Better "feel" with guns. Vastly better maps. I don't mind that the textures and models aren't as advanced as in FH and, as a Finn, do not mind the Finnish flavour of the mod. No disrespect to FH, I love it as well.
While I don't urge others to do that, I only wish to point out that there are worthwhile features in other mods. As another example: the artillery spotter kit in Finnwars rocks. You can call in arty with a field phone. And what you get is not some bozo noob trying to aim with a gun. Instead, you get a large dose of artillery impacting the area without player involvement. take care, LaDigue (KustjƤgare)
A lot can be learned from the smaller mods like BF1918 and FinnWars. There are tons of great ideas in them, yet no one seems to notice them!

Which begs the question, is it realistic to expect to see the following in FH: 1. more flags requiring 2-3 persons for capping --> tremendous boost for gameplay, last flag isn't any more exposed to one gung-ho guy in a jeep capping it 2. molotov cocktails 3. flamethrowers 4. artillery spotter kits that call in artillery barrages (instead of linking with noobs) 5. shovel, with which you can hide mines 6. bomber squadrons that flhy over the map dropping series of bombs on their own 7. artillery that shells certain areas of map randomly and more or less constantly All of that is in Finnwars as we speak. Again, no disrespect to this great mod, which has tons of goodies missing from Finnwars. LaDigue
I like the pushable artillery...we need that for the pak...
i can just see someone pushing the pak 40 down the main road in berlin
BF1918 is by no means a 'smaller' mod. It's a very professional piece of work, with very uniform quality of models.
Just a FYI, Usma... :)
