How would FH run on this Mac? I was thinking of buying BF1942 for Mac to play .7 on this Mac. I also have a PC which I rarely use and has a Intel 3Ghz, 2GB RAM, and 6800 GT.

Power Mac Quad G5 @ 2.5Ghz GeForce 6600 256MB 2.5GB DDR2 PC2-4200 RAM 2x 20" 2005FPW (1680x1050 per display)

Uhmm....Performance on either of those machines will not be a problem, just turn it all up to max and enjoy the beauty of FH.

Guys, first of alll, the hardware used in a Mac is a lot different than for a PC. Let the resident Mac FH'r handle this.

Amazingly well. :D

I play on a PowerBook G4, one of the older ones with only 64megs alotted to the Radeon 9700. The recently upped it to 128, so now I'm kinda angry at Apple.

Honestly, you will have no problems. Take lots of screenshots so we can see what FH is ment to look like.

If only all PC's came with water cooling standard...my freaking PC has 9 fans on it... (one in front, two in back, one each on door and roof, two in PSU, one each on CPU and Videocard). Then again, the G5 runs so freaking hot that it NEEDS water cooling, so maybe it's not so bad (it kind of sucks that all Apple notebooks are nerfed with the G4).

Oh Btw USMA, any idea when Apple's taking the x86 plunge? I'd like to crack a copy of OS X for my PC.

Well, I don't know about the mac, but this pc, wich you rarely use (you can give it to me if you want :p ), can play FH maxed on 1600x1200, AA x4 and AF x12 without any problems.

Yeah, I play FH on my PC at 1600x1200 with 4xAA/16xAF with around 70 FPS most of the time.

As for the Mac, I've tried it at 1680x1050 with everything on high and it got around 50 FPS. There's no AA/AF for Macs that have a Nvidia card.

Yea they put nice hardware in mac's. The problem is the um...less than kind of stable OS that most run. This operating system has a mad retarted fit whenever somthing is not installed right or using IRQ's right. Take plug and play for instance. The MAC version of plug and play still runs under the oldest standards of P&P. Somtimes it will work and somtimes it won't. Also, do NOT EVER try and remove a CD from a Mac while it is accessing it. Rather than disable the process it was starting, like XP does, it goes stupid and locks up half the time. Lets not forget to mention that it is all shotty proprietary hardware and software. The enter button on your keyboard stops working and you need to spend 40 dollars for a new one. This is why MAC will always sit in the rut it is. Good for tough graphic design, bad for heavy duty gaming and wear and tear.
