Um, dude, it IS a feature. You have to lead in real life, and you have to lead in game. I donno what your talking about Dukat about leading just being a byproduct of the network....

Dukat;4804888The need for leading of targets and the fact that you have to aim ahead is not intended by the devs as a feature but due to network latency and affects all sorts of weapons available in any games. You just don't realize because most games give you automatic weapons and fixed the snipers, as they shoot bullets as broad as a mellon so you will hit even with bigger latency.

Dukat you have to lead in SP, to. And I can't imagine there being much of any network lag in SP.

Sir Apple;4804848Ok, sorry, but there is no way you've ever fired any sort of weapon. If you have, please stop saying stuff like that, just, stop. There is not one bit of truth to that. I, as well as Mudra (post before me), own rifles, and can easily knock down your statements. I don't really have much to add to Von Mudra's post, as it is all true. I remember I was firing at moving targets with my garand from 200 yards, I had to aim a reasonible amount of distance in front of the target to hit it. And that was just a 200 yards. This isn't hollywood... rifles are not lazer guns. They don't fire in beams. Fh2 nailed perfectly the way a rifle is to be fired at a target, according to range.

Bruce.. How much have you actually fired your Garand? I remember you saying once that the ammo was really hard to get and expensive.

Um, Fuchs? Its .306...one of the cheapest ammo types you can get, other then 7.62 and 8mm....

The only ammo I have trouble with is the 7mmx57mm for my M24...that runs about 25 bucks for 20 rounds.

Um, Mudra? I'm from the Netherlands, the only ammo you can get here is rusty, rotten and 60 years old. Or blancs.

Ok, I don't wanna discuss, I don't know for sure, but I never considered this as a feature. My ping to hslan is 19 and I think I don't have to aim ahead at all. If I have to aim ahead, it is so marginal, I don't realize it or do it because I'm used to. If your ping is 170, you gotta aim ahead leastwise for the length of a head or more, depending on the distance to target.

I also know that some games added an artificial latency to singleplayer modes to simulate this effect. At least Stalker does. I don't know about the BF-series. My impression is, that this is done because it is more fun and to help people dealing their latency in multiplayer by training them already in singleplayer.

But I remember discussions where people stated, that you would not have to lead targets on distances about 100, 200 or 400 yards with rifles and that leading of targets was uncommon like we do in FH. I don't recall who that was, but in general I cannot determine what is right or wrong at all, I gotta trust those who actually got rifles and have some expirience about it.

In real life, if I was shooting at a moving target 100 yards away, I would have to lead it, and 200, 400, just makes the lead more. It all has to do with the direction, speed, and distance of the target from my rifle. Remember, bullets do take time to travel, its exactly the same as leading with a fighter. The lead system ingame is good imo, and it is a feature....

@ Fuchs: Find me a place to get some 7x57mm, and then we're in business :P There's no surplus off the stuff, so I end up having to buy from remington or such, which is horribly expensive.... And my M24 is, other then my K31, my best shooter. Its so beautiful>__
