Ace, given the current state of the mod, I'd agree with you that push mode would ruin the map if NOTHING is done to change it aside from switching to push mode.

But other things could be done to change the gameplay. The allies could have the PIAT and expack/satchel classes changed to pickup kits, scattered throughout the map. The Axis could have a little less armor in light of that (or the allies could just get a little more AT kits as pickups, but not a spawnable class).

I do think that push mode could be done well, but it would need to be carefully done and the map would HAVE to be rebalanced.

One other thing is that (if this is possible), the push mode would really need to have the flags be un-recapturable. IE: if the axis captured a flag, it would have to remain off-limits for the rest of the map. From playing Alpenfestung lately, it seems to be a real problem that the allies can re-cap flags they've lost. Especially considering that the capture time is something like three seconds (so as not to screw up push mode for the whole map), the flags need to be un-recappable.

'[SYN hydraSlav']I like "spontenaity" and freedom of action. Yet nothing ruins that map more then a jeep runner that caps the back flag before the defenders get to defensive positions.

agree. maybe an object could be put on the bridge (or just in front of it, german side) preventing any object from crossing it until the round has played for 60 sec (at which point it selfdestructs). that would also give the germans a harder blow once they try to cross the bridge.

Arisakaagree. maybe an object could be put on the bridge (or just in front of it, german side) preventing any object from crossing it until the round has played for 60 sec (at which point it selfdestructs). that would also give the germans a harder blow once they try to cross the bridge.

I was thinking exactly the same thing, though i did not dare to mention it...
