Hehe...I was just thinking: If YOU could chose 3 maps that would be created, what would them be like? Mine: 1. Operation Barbarossa. German has a LOT of equipment, and the russian has just some "old crap". However, the russian has a couple of good defence points, and things like that. :D 2. Operation Weserübung. German fleet invades Norway, and a porly equiped Norwegian army defend (could be Englishmen). :D 3. Invasion of France. The name talks for itself. PS: Sorry my english...:cya:
Huge maps with plenty of vehicles and some planes are fiiiiiiiine with me. :D
A defense of Moscow map.
A battle of Sevastopol (Crimea) map.
An East Germany/East Prussia 1945 Soviet offensive map.
1) BG42 vehiclemap "Citadel" in FH
It will never happen, but Towbee's map looked like we are finally getting a real tank battle map in FH. :)
2) "Find & Destroy the Bismarck" naval battle
That would require quitte a lot of Brittish battleships and cruisers to be modelled.....and bunnyhoppers don't like such maps, probably won't happen. :(
3) "European Air War"
A playing style map like Battle of Brittain, but now bombing german factories, with B17 (day) or Lancasters ( night) as bombers, Mosquito's as pathfinders at night, and P38, P47 or P51 as US daylight bomber escorts.
Interceptors are BF109 and FW190, and jet and rocket propelled aircraft like the ME 163, and ME 262 in daylight, and ME110 and ME262 or other nightfighters at night.
Nearly all of the needed models are there, but bunnyhoppers don't like such maps, wich means it probably will not happen in FH :(
Its been said before but what I would like the most is a Normandie map with paratroopers, not sure where (really doesnt matter) but as long as 101 airborne are involved I'm happy.
I agree with Beast of War....the hunt for the Bismarck would be awesome....I would just love to control huge amounts of firepower.....
Battle at Hannut, Belgium 1940
On May 10th the tanks of General Hoepner's Panzer Korp rolled accross the belgian border on its way to its objectives. On the morning of the 13th, they would stumble headlong into the French 1st Armee's Corp de Cavalerie, under General Prioux, consisting of 2nd and 3rd Division Legere Mechanique. The resulting meeting engagement would be the largest tank battle in the entire campaign. Both german and french tank divisions would meet around the town of Hannut, fighting in one of the most evenly matched contests of the war. As history would have it, the french force would end up badly mauling the german 3rd and 4th panzerdivisonen, but then was ordered to withdraw behind the french border. What could have been a potential disaster for the german timetable in Belgium ended up being a minor delay.
I do believe that the battle of Kummersdorf would be nice. There was alot of tanks there seeing as how it was a training and testing facility.
1. Im a real tank n' Bazooka nut, so I'd have to say the top map for me would be a new Bocage.
2. Close second would be either of the Juno, Sword or Utah beaches.
3. Seeing as we are getting a Kursk map, I'd love to see a large open field type map (very open, bright and not as dull as Kursk) loaded with Tiger I, II's and Panther G's and D's. Something similar to BG42's Citadel map, if thats what its called.
I can't remember the name of it, but I saw a show on the History Channel about an expansive French bunker system that was used to hold off the Germans. Granted, the Germans attacked somewhere else, but it'd be an interesting map nonetheless to have french bunkers sunk into the hills. Too bad tunnel systems are a pain to do with the BF42 engine. EDIT: It was called the Maginot Line. It was a failure for the French because the Germans attacked a lightly defended area north of where the line was, but it's speculated that it would have been effective in thwarting the Germans had they attacked there. -Bagginses
