I'm curious to know if anyone is and if they are having problems or not. I'm getting a new computer and have to decide on an operating system.

I am. There are weird things happening that may or may not be Vista's fault. For example, my game will always crash when loading a map at 14% completion during the Objects phase, but only after playing another map first. If I restart the game, the map loads fine. It fails with a BF2 Memory Error.

The performance is good enough. I don't have a monster system, but it runs FH very well at almost full settings.

run the FH2 exe in Windows XP compatability mode...that should fix most crashes.

Actually I have been. Compatibility mode generally makes no changes to a program's function. It's basically to adjust for the new Windows GUI and the explorer shell. A BF2 memory error that only occurs after another map is played would be the result of a memory leak or a hard drive failure, but it's ALWAYS at 14% loading...

Vista is pure evil. I had to deal with home edition - that was a true horror.

A strange thing, in my case sometimes loading stops for 40 seconds or so at 14%, though it doesn't crash. (I have XP.)

My personal experience is: at the time being, stay away from Vista at all costs, unless you want to run some game that requires DirectX 10. You may always upgrade later if Vista turns out to be better than XP, but right now, it's just (way) worse for most apps.

In my experience Windows Vista crashes the game more (freeze) and leads to a lot more CTD's and worse performance in general, FH2 this is.

The bf2editor and debugger is virtually useless under windows vista, even with compability settings.

I've had no problems with Vista when playing FH2, although FH1 is completely another story... Has that PB Kick issue fixed yet anyhow? I havent suffered any CTD during map loads or so.. Well, maybe i put my sys specs here: AMD 64 Dual core processor running at 5.2 GHZ 2 GB of RAM memory Graphics card unit: Radeon Saphire 3870 512 HD DDR4 type memory (Bought this last month) Vista: 32 bit Although sometimes im having issues with VOIP in the game, seems my mic doesnt like BF2 in general, even though the mic icon appears on the right side of the screen, my voice doesnt transmit to squadmates.. Anyone else experiencing the same?

But then the map editor and debugger, they dont work at all.. Although i havent had the need to use either, since my mapping skills are second to everything..
