Yeah, there's one fan map that featured it way back in 0.5.

It was re-released in an unofficial map pack for 0.61 about a year ago.

Sorry, cant remember the name of the map though.

It was a Russians versus Japanese map and IIRC dealt with the Russian Northern Kurile's Islands in 1945.

At the end of the war in 1945 the Soviets attacked the Japanese in Manchuria and at the Kurile Islands. Ever wondered why the Kurile Islands belong to the Russian Federation today? Well, there's your answer. The Soviets also fought the Japanese at the Manchuria-Mongolian border. The battle of Halhin Gol. I think that was in 1937.

You're talking about Hailar are you? How was that map?

Per their agreements made at the Teheran Conference in December 1943 Russia agreed that once Germany was defeated Russia would join the war against Japan. On August 8th 1945 Soviet forces invaded Manchuria and routed what was left of the once mightly Kwangtung Army. They also invaded Sakhalin and the northern Kuriles. Japan suffered some 80,000 casulties and 500,000 captured. Soviets suffered 32,000 casulties. The earlier battle name depends on who you ask. Soviets call it the battle of Khalin-Gol after the river at the battle site and the Japanese call it the battle of No-something (Nohaman?), cant remember the name but it was a small town or village near the battle. IIRC the Soviets renamed the town afte the battle. Hailar was as one sided for the Japanese in FH as it was for the Japanese in Manchuria in WW2. They got slaughtered. Never bring a Chi-Ha to a T-34/85 fight. Even with the Japs getting historically incorrect bazooka's it was usually a rout for the Japs.

Hailar.

Now there's a map I'd rather forget. Notorious in FH for all the wrong reasons.
