One of the [WOLF] admins recently told me on El Alamien that getting a Panzershreck, waiting for the crosshairs to even, then pulling out a pistol, then firing the Panzershreck and waiting for the crosshairs to even again before pulling out my pistol was considered glitching. They said that the devs had named this as a glitch, so I wanted to confirm this. The reason I am worried about this is because for every Panzershreck, Piat, Bazooka, etc. I always pull my pistol out after waiting for the crosshairs to even, so that I can get off a good shot at a tank without waiting for the crosshairs to even again.

I never heard of that. If it's not a glitch and I have been doing it the regular way all this time, bah!

I think they've said it is a glitch that you aren't supposed to use but it's almost impossible to prove when you're using an anti-tank weapon since it makes sense to pull out your pistol for self defense against infantry. However, if you do the same thing with a machine gun by switching to a knife to keep the crosshairs closed then it's more obvious and you're risking a kick. So you aren't supposed to use it but nearly everyone does.

I don't do the knife/mg glitch, since I basically never use the MG's at all. However, I've been doing this thing with the anti-tank weapons since I first started playing FH, and I didn't know about it being a glitch up until a few hours ago.

I thought this glitch only works with knives? To be honest, I think considering the firing arc of the Faust now... unless the tank gets really within 5 meters of your position, you need somehow get near the tank, preferrably to it's side/rear. When you do this with your faust in your hand, it tanks a too long time for the crosshairs to focus, soooo....

Hah it's stupid to not do it. Just pistol for infantry and when you see tank, panzerschreck.

the knife/mg thing is bullsh**t... the resone for the expansion of the crossairs is to keep you from firering on the move or while standing not to keep your from firering your weapon fast before someone eles shoots you..

i have to admit when i am anti-tank i pull out my pistol, but it really is for self-defence against other infantry. the proof? any time my pistol is a no2 (british revolver) i will be running with the anti-tank weapon in my hand....unless i can find a rolled up newspaper, a fly swatter, a vigorously shaken up can of fizzy pop or anything that's more powerful than the no2! ;) i don't mind people doing the same when i am in a tank, its a game and ok the spread of the crosshairs is supposed to represent time taken to deploy the weapon etc but on the flip side tank visibilty/cupola speed was less IRL so less chance to get mown down, so i figure it all balances out. i always thought glitches referred to parachuting into a tree or hiding in a "hole" in the map etc. at the end of the day though, if i am playing on a server that i contribute nothing to financially and administratively and so forth i try to play by their rules.

just as a side note, about 20yrs ago i had a go on a "PIAT" at an RAF base in the UK that fired a kind of heavily weighted tennis ball with a tail and fin , what they were doing with something like that i don't know, naturally i couldn't cock the spring (or the US .45 they had) to load it but i remember the "lobbing" effect of the projectile and i did manage to hit the side of......an aircraft hanger lol, having said that they also had a re-configured Matra Sneb 68mm multiple rocket launcher pod (think thats what its called) from a Harrier jump jet that fired tennis balls and that was accurate as hell.

The way I understand the pistol/anti tank weapon glitch is that it's all good to run around with your pistol as protection from infantry, but they consider it a glitch if you wait for the zooka crosshairs to fullly close before pulling out your pistol. I could be wrong, but I think that's how Pumpkin or maybe JChaser explained it to me once. Either way Otto, you should be kicked for your radar hack and your aimbot anyway. :p
