Just wondering, are you guys planning on having the small arms gameplay the same? Meaning, two guys see each other, they both get down and crouch, and fire? I mean really, thats what I think bothered me about FH2. Don't get me wrong, FH definitely made BF1942 worth it... but in any case, that really bugged me. I'm hoping you are going to get rid of that, with the new engine and all.. I mean it can be similiar , that is ok , but I just think that you should make the "sighting in" the same for when you are crouching or standing, or maybe even increase it when you are moving. Thanks.
I also am wondering, will you have to "Drag in" your targets? Like, will you have to shoot ahead of them to hit em? That was BF1942's real problem, it ruined close quarters because you had to do it even at point blank.

This is a skill in the BF universe that takes time to master. :-D
I hope that is gone too, I think it will be. I don’t see why there would be a difference in the time it takes to look down the sights when standing or crouched, and I’m not even sure if the "sway" of the weapon should be any more or less between these stances. The only thing those two stances should influence is recoil, as being crouched seems more of a braced position than standing. Ontop of that, moving into a crouching position should increase sway for a very short while, giving the edge to, or making the chances of two people, one standing and the other crouched, the same when it comes to getting the first shot off accurately.
And dragging in your targets? Short answer.. yes.
Well the "drag in" effect seems to be less pronounced in BF2. Depends on your latency I suppose but it seems to be alot more WYSIWYH in the BF2 engine than the BF1942 one.
bullet lag is significgantly less in BF2, to the point where we can probobly remove the hit indicator all together.
fireing stances will have an effect on sight bob, because each position is respectivly more stable, making it easier to keep the weapon steady (standing you arnt resting it on anything, crouching its resting on your knee, and prone its resting on the ground)
Changing stances will disturb your sights, as will any quick movement, so the person who is most stable will get the advantage (ie, one person is hiding in a bush, the other guy is running, the first guy will have more advantage)
But it all really comes down to skill, because unlike FH1, where you had to wait for the crosshairs to close, in FH2, if you can get your sights on the other player and fire accuratly, youl likely hit. Standing or not.

I'm really looking forward to this, IIRC RO had a system like this which I really liked. The bullets go where the gun is pointing, and there are varying amounts of accuracy depending on the gun, instead of having the bullet randomly make a turn once it leaves the barrel and run away from the target...
Yes... I can not WAIT for that. It will be so nice not having to do the quick draw thing, ... Iron sights will be awesome
I think drag as you think of it is latency problems. This cant really be fixed, And I agree I hate this too. It's something we hafta cope with.
Ah, SWEET! That is just what I wanted to hear. Sounds a bit like COD2....realism people, don't gore me. Yeah, I appreciate realism and all but sometimes people can really overkill that.... I mean, thats why you got stuff like Americas Army and whatnot, right? Anyways... One more last question: How are the reload animations looking and all? Are custom ones hard to do? BF1942 really killed some of the realism look you were going for with how hard it was to do the animations, fortunately a lot of the weapons in FH were in BF1942 but...anyways, hope all works well with that.
I hope gameplay in FH2 isn't going along the lines as in COD1 where the selection between pistol, rifle/smg, melee attack, grenade all happened too quickly and it became a quick draw gunfight at the 'OK Corel' *spelling*
