I agree APC's should have a more important role.....they are meant to be used near and in battlefields, that is why they carry light armour to protect it's load against artillery near miss fragmentation and most infantry weapons fire.
Trucks are meant to be used well behind the frontlines, mostly as supply transports from ports or larger depots to fielddepots near the frontlines, where APC's take over to carry the supplies to the battlefield. Or as Anlushac said munition schleppers, that are not in FH yet. Basicly most of those were older tank types without a turret, where munition, fuel and supplies were stored on the vehicle where the turret used to be. These were actually very common transports, every German armoured devision used them. ( mobile artillery did too )
In many maps now there are way too many trucks.....i haven't a clue what they are for, because in most situatons there is no front line and the enemy is all over the place in numerous tanks or PAK cannons and it is a suicidal form of transport that was never used in that role......and in fact it would be better if some of those trucks would have been tanks or fighting vehicles.....
Sometimes a truck can be used to sneak around enemy defenses hugging the map out of bounds......but trucks are generally useless vehicles in a battlefield enviroment......wich is proven by the fact i rarely see them being used if there are tanks or armoured cars to be had aswell. They are only used if all other vehicles are taken or not available ( wich isn't a free choice really )
I like the addition of trucks in FH, but i do not like the way they are often forced upon you in large numbers in the place of more usefull fighting vehicles.
Actually thanks to DICE and the SWOWW2 demo we have a Munitionspanzer IV available, all FH has to do is fix the ring mount(but I would get rid of the APC ability and mine laying ability).
FH could use the Hanomag on early maps and the Munitionspanzer IV for later maps. The APC should have armor strong enough to resist MG fire and artillery spalsh damage.
I would say the APC should be able to heal other vehicles only if it has a engineer driving but should not be able to heal itself (coders are saying yeah right!). It should be able to reload tanks and other vehicles and infantry small arms but a limited supply of A/T reloads.
Thinking about it actually it's not such a problem with FH given the high damage ratios - unlike BG42 where everything is scaled down, most guns will kill an APC outright. And with lesser guns, well its good to have a bit more protection for the APCs because the maps are too small for them to be used properly generally.
Count Nosferaturemember BG42, the APCs ended up being nigh invulnerable, them repairing themselves as quickly as you can damage them.
Seeing as when I play BG and use an APC I ALWAYS die in 2 hits unless I can drive around a corner...
Solo4114Ammo trucks are not the solution. They're WAAAY too flimsy to do the job. You don't drive ammo trucks to the front, man, they just get chewed up. They're great big relatively slow moving targets. Come to think of it, so are the APCs anymore. Such a shame that APCs are so useless in this game.
Make them like PoE's light vehicles, they have to be destroyed with HE rounds, standard tank rounds dont do any damage to them (except if the engine is hit).

You found that? Playing offline I found the contrary, and thats with the bots being crackshots. Ah well maybe different experiences
hartmann .. what do you say about this. some time ago you promised to add refill to the ammo boxes ..
