Is it possible to limit the range at which a Rocket Based AT Weapon can be fired, Ie To stop people running into your tank & firing or Jumping on the back of the tank & firing.

Mwah, i dont see why it wouldnt be possible. In real life most rocket proppel grenades needed to travel a certain distance before they where "armed". Otherwise they would bounce harmlessly of a tank.

Interesting, that would make jeep-AT-runs almost impossible as you'll have to stay far enough from the tank and so within the shooting 'range' of the tank. Most simple and probably effective proposition yet!

Nowadays this is true, but back in WWII was it?

Someone mentioned a good example of a Finnish guy who didn't know how to use panzerfausts, so he just walked up to within a few meters of the backs of Russian tanks and blew away something like 5 in one day.

I'd rather see this fixed with more realistic blast radii. Does anyone have a clue how big a bazooka boom is?

I think we are really just running into the limits of the simulation. The reason they never did it in real life was cause tanks were big and scary. There was also the fear of blowback. Neither of these factors can be simulated in a video game. Nobody's really afraid of a video tank, and players are often happy to risk death or injury to their avatar take one out. On the plus side, nobody is ever actually killed playing FH...

But how do you know this story is true? It could very well be propaganda. Also what is a few meters? [QUOTE=Yossarian]Yeah, it would be possible, but that would just be another win for that pantz0r hors.

I am sorry to say this, but what kind of childish reply is this?

Seriously, how old are you? Not 19, thats for sure. We dont need this sort of lame, immature "boohoo i hate tanks and tankers" here in this thread.

Tanks and inf both get serious "decreasing" of ability to combat each other, but on the other hand, the means they have to kill the other became more effective. It's harder to get a shot at the enemy when you are in a tank, because you can see much less of the battlefield. Also the general handling of tanks became more "heavy". Once you made out a target, you can kill it more easily, though, because the range of available shells (AP, HE, Smoke, ..) As an infantryman, you have a "harder to use" weapon, but you can sneak close more simply due to the tanks limited view, and when you placed a shot it will have severe effects on the tank.
