I don't worry about sounds, textures, skins or things like that because whatever they sound/look like doesn't really matter after few hours of playing. All and all the sounds are ok (some bugs tho), tanks look like tanks (i will stick my faust up their a** anyway) and so on. I think the devs have made a great job and I'm more than happy to play this mod. But what I DO worry is playability. The new maps are well made and look really nice but imho they are too big and there are too many flags. In most maps the fighting spreads too much and there are less really intense battles. I would prefer maps being long and narrow instead of square. Long and narrow would mean that after you take the first flag and start attacking the next one, it wouldn't be so easy for the enemy to drive past you with a jeep and take that first flag back. I like something like Arnhem where (if the germans don't swim and run to the back flag) the battle is more concentrated and therefore more intense. I'm also a big fan of Breakthrough and although it's big with many flags, the fighting is more concentrated because there are only 2 places where you can cross that river. So, I think smaller maps with less flags would be nice. What do you think? :cya:

i agree 100%. the big maps cause more lag and less-concentrated fighting.

That is absolutley true !!! Prokhorovka is an excellent example for this. The map is huge and you can accsess any flag form just about anywhere on the map. There is no logical order in what flag to cap next. And until Push maps finally make it into FH, this leads to the fighting getting defocused and booring. More flags is not always better. There is a reason why El Alamein only has 3 flags, because it already rather unlikley to meet resistance on your way with 32 players. I´d also like to see all of the flag positions reconsidered, especially on the large maps. Breakthrough and Prokhorovka would both surley profit form a flag less. As for the new maps, I only like Operation Goodwood (missing one or two P-47/51) and Nordwind so far. Most of the other playable maps seem rather unispired and looks as if designed without a real idea on how they should play. Sector 318 (Battleaxe in Normandie...), Falaise Pocket (another Normandie Battle map...), Operation Blacknight (remake of Alpenfestung ?), Bombing the Reich (Battle of Britain turned around ?), Rheinübung (obviously made to replace Atlantik, but its to big) and Desert Rose (booring map layout, useless naval powers) fall into that categorie. So please, its not the quantitie of maps, but the qualitie that counts. How come we now have at least 4 Normandie tank-battle maps where the most demanded map in the past was always a D-Day map similar to Crete...

I myself am getting sick and tired of this too, if this is a realism mod. We should have push style gameplay. Not some lone trooper taking a back flag making it possible for his buddy's to spawn there too and attack the enemy from two sides. Its retarded in my opinion. IRL there are things called FRONTS!

Agreed. I think it's even more frustrating because some of the maps like Falaise Pocket have too few tanks/assault vehicles relative to the size of the map, number of players, and number of flags. Add to the fact that tanks in FH can get destroyed in a second by another tank, and you slowly start to realize you will be spending most of the game on foot. Also, while playing Falaise, someone said that they hated "ring around the rosy"-type maps and I couldn't help but chuckle. The circular map arrangement is so horrid, since it brings back memories of Vanilla BF, i.e. Battleaxe, that it should be completely abolished. madx.gif I'm not trying to put down the mapmakers, 'cause I think the maps look gorgeous and stunning, but the gameplay could be improved.

Yea, I refer to this kind of maps like "fuck in the ass" maps. And i hate them, One thing that can solve this is making so the flags has to be caped in a particular order or somthing? It realy kills the gamyplay on some maps. The map Rheinübung, its not to big, the problem is the fog, with less fog you can have long range battleship fight. As it is now you have to be in a position so you almost can board the other ship to see it. (exaggerating a bit :p)
