I have actualy found this myself as well. Operation goodwood is a brilliant map and one which many people are saying is the best. But there are just too many flags for it. Take away one or two and you will have a great big battle. Instead you get say 2-3 players attacking one flag which is occupied by one German and it does get tedious to have such a small scale attack and this constant running back and forth to get a flag is a drag. A shame there is not someway that when someone captures a flag it can NOT be captured back :naughty: Anyway back to the point. There is just not enough intence fighting on these new maps. Falese pocket is a great map but there are just too many flags. Sector 318 is great, but yet there is one too many flags. Nordwind is perfect in terms of having just enough flags to have some really great battles. Oh iam not playing these maps on 40 player servers, Iam talking 64 players. Supercharge is a great map...but once again there are just too many flags :( I recently played a map called night of nights where the flags are very close to each other in a german town and the battle was amazing. Very intence and a joy to play :) While the new maps are beautiful espicaly the castle on blackknight, there are just too many flags set apart for any real intence battles. I was lucky enough to play on taiwana. And the amount of flags on that is crazy, were talking 7-8 if i can remeber. I really think this needs to be addressed. p.s Iam quite surrprized so many people agree :)

The 13th Raptor " I myself am getting sick and tired of this too, if this is a realism mod. We should have push style gameplay. Not some lone trooper taking a back flag making it possible for his buddy's to spawn there too and attack the enemy from two sides. Its retarded in my opinion. IRL there are things called FRONTS!" I agree - give us push style maps!

We are currently working on getting a working push style gameplay working (much better then DCs ) as well as experimenting with other capture types (as you may have noticed, the american base on norwind needs multiple players to capture)

You can expect maps to be retrofitted with these features in .7

Yeah, I think that the mainly infantry only maps are too big, not enough choke points to get the action going. When you have aircraft, that's a whole different deal. The maps need to be big so they can maneuver.

Goodwood is a good example. There are no chokepoints, its too spread out, there is no logic to how the flags are placed. There are a couple of maps like this is 0.65, meaning that there is no strategic value to capturing that particular position, the flag is "just there". Don't get me wrong, I like the map. There are too many flags and they're not positioned well.

FALAISE POCKET - No strategy. Just a map with 6 flags... wow.

I have to agree, all the maps look really nice (except the sky in op. goodwood, it's is way TOO bright and hurts my eyes).

Falaise Pocket would be better with only one row of flags, thats where the actions is, 6 flags are too much and fights are less intense with people wandering around instead of house to house fighting. Sector 318 has (i think) one middle flag too much. Outer flags are nice for some tank and infantry fight, while the city flag would be only for intense infantry fights. Goodwood is very nice map, but not gameplay vise. Way to big and flags too scattered around.
