Medics are now rewarded for healing/reviving others in BF2. And playing a medic is great. I hate waiting 10-15 seconds to respawn when I'm right next to the enemy base or about to take out a few enemies, and it's a great feeling when a medic comes along and revives you. So I concentrate on healing & reviving instead of killing. I am able to have the highest score on the server without getting a single kill. But this brings me to my question. Will FH2 take advantage of the new medic abilities in BF2 (reviving, scoring for healing/reviving)? It always bugged me that I wasn't able to play a medic in regular FH. I think playing a medic in FH2 would be amazing... Even if you don't give medics a weapon, I would still play as one and heal other players because I don't need to kill anything. But there is a problem with medics in BF2...the advanced technology. Did they have shock paddles in WW2? Doubt it. There would have to be some kind of reskin for the medic bag because it too looks too advanced. Maybe the shock paddles could be replaced with morphine, like in Enemy Territory. But then new animations would have to be made along with the morphine model. Anyways, thanks for the answers, and I really hope to see medics on the field in FH2. smilie.gif

I would hang my hat on medic-like abilities making an appearance in FH2 in some form.

Advanced technology, no. Over powerfull drugs that make you go crazy and are now forbiden, yes :naughty: But IF FH2 is going to implement the medic class, I think that you shouldn't be able to completely heal the soldiers, and only a limited amount of times before they die. Hmmmm, how about the war drug, gives you a boost, you take shots but still storm, and then you get all dizzy because of the side effects, mwahahahaha :deal:

How about if the medic carried a limited supply of medpacks that can be dropped, just like currently in BF2, but couldn't heal himself or others without dropping the medpack. You would do away with the med cabinets that are currently in FH. That way you would still have the same amount of realism as is in FH, but you would have to rely on medics and supply crates instead of finding a med cabinet in a building. He could carry a weak gun (like maybe a pistol - I think that would be historically accurate anyway) to prevent everyone from going medic. Since rifles are 1S1K anyway, they wouldn't have that much of an advantage over other classes. Although I love the way the defibrillator works, I can't think of a way of incorporating this and making it even remotely realistic. The closest you could get would be hanging a bag of blood and slapping on a torniquet.

It isn't full of bullet holes, because of his newly invented body armour made in year 2009.

Limited healing ability (1/10th of a bar) seems reasonable. But once your down, your DOWN. Engies getting points for "wrenching" is intriguing...

The droppable medpacks are the dumbest in BF2. If the medic has to be holding the bag, that I believe, requires the medic's participation to heal. But the droppable medpacks ARE A JOKE! Wtf, how is an inanimate object going to heal you? FH2: Medics can't drop med packs, only heal by "holding out the bag" for realism and gameplay.

Well, the problem with the old BF1942 method of healing by holding the pack near you is that he can constantly heal himself while running around inbetween shooting matches. This is certainly not realistic and detracts from gameplay. If he has a limited number of medpacks he can't do this very well. As for realism of dropping packs for people - field dressing just involves putting compression on a bleeding wound and giving a morphine injection, and pretty much anyone can do this if they have the supplies. The medic is the guy that carries it around and supplies it. It's certainly more realistic than any old GI of any class running into a church and healing themself by standing next to a med cabinet, which is what is in FH now.
