How many of you noticed changes in maps when going to certain servers? For me, when I went to this one server (promoting Forgotten Honor and such) playing the Charlie Sector map, the Higgins boats were replaced by those tracked amphibious landing craft (ones with machine guns and others with a tank turret)

sometimes those change makes the map worse, or make map unbalanced, but some changes did make some maps better :/
of course, in omaha these changes are not very reasonable, true man don't need mobile spawns for them, that's why the allied have much more tickets(nearly 2.1 times the axis one, quite terrible indeed) and sniper rifles.
No those changes on that server is brilliant, however there are some other SSM servers that are done without logic, those make the maps and the entire game worse, that server you speak of Pheeph is modded by people that have insight into how the maps work, and they are optimized after 3-4 years of careful studies how those maps work when 64 people are on them, so on that server you will play an updated and improved version of those maps.

of course they can, even in full wolf server, where players are very good at gunnery. the allied totally kicked the german's ass.
but the key is still the snipers,riflenades(this looked like exploit though), and a certain teamwork, more important is that the allied have so many tickets.
I played regular Omaha since it exists, most of the times on allied side, some times as the looser, almost equally often as the winner in the end. I was playing on the Pixel server quite some time to see what your modding is all about and like somebody else said there are some things that make sense and change gameplay to the better. But there are other things that(in my opinion) totally ruin the maps. Charly Sector with it's mobile spawns is one of those maps (it's big fun to spawn in a waterbuffalo right on the beach with 32 people shooting at you and you can't get out because there are either to many people spawning on tiny space or the driver forgot to open the hatch,also those sdkfz 222 are very nice for making enemy infatry happy), Goodwood would be another one. What used to be one of my favorite maps with a very good mixture of tank and infantry combat has now become a cramped parking lot for tanks.
The buffalos take too much allied resources from the bunkers imo, without buffalos allies were able to progressively win the map. Going north from the bunkers is difficult, yes, but doable if most of the team is doing it. First the bunkers, then the middle flag... nowadays capping the back flag (with buffalo) is the only way to win.
There's no point in spawning to a buffalo which is camping near the house on the beach, only to be blown up to pieces by a schrek... not that camping when you are bleeding has a point anyways
