You missed his point, which was not that jumping out of planes was unrealistic, but jumping out of planes sans parachute and surviving is unrealistic. It's very easy to do, just a matter of timing, and can be accomplished about 75% or more of the time (although you usually lose some health from the plane wreck/explosion.

Pvt. Ryanpeople bailed out of planes a LOT in ww2, and besides, your stuck with a dinky pistol with 2 mags, behind enemy lines, and most likely facing tanks, SMGs ect.

Appearantly it's still a big problem for FH when the pilot class is abscent on many maps anyway, ffs remove the pistol and leave the knife but don't have planes and no parachutes.

No but he has a point with that jumping thing, it's a pitty indeed that a stamina system isn't possible cause it'd make things more realistic and less UT-ish caus I get pissed everytime I see people jumping and shooting at the same time I can't believe that would ever have occured even if by accident or so :-s people just don't jump when in a fight historical accurate ww2 shooters should not have the abbilities to jump like in the matrix or something like that :p so maybe we should make a petition for the guys over @ DICE to make them add a way to limit jumping and stuff like that :p

Speaking of parachutes, are there any chutes for japs on Wake Island?

As for the overall topic of the thread: Geez Sherlock... do you think no one else thought of your "ideas". How about giving us a suggestion with a way of implementing it?

No offense intended

The only reason jumping is included in the game is to get over obstacles. It would have been much better if DICE had implemented a 'straddle' command instead of 'jump'. That way when you get to an obstacle you can straddle over it - there is no bunnyhopping, and it is more realistic. It's probably too difficult to code with this engine, but maybe BF2 code holds the answer...

Straddling would take too long though. It would be like getting into a vehicle in HALO. :flag:

Ultra Realistic = Ultra Shit

Youv'e got to remember that this is a game and games are designed for fun not ultra realism. FH realism is great because its accessable and fun, Combat Mission realism would be shit for FH.

would be fun if the guy only moved the legs when jumping (torso only lifted a few cm), and then the torso could be lifted again once the legs hit firm ground again. would be far more realistic, and would completely eliminate bunnyjumping (when you jump target doesn't move for the enemy, but the target you're aming at bounces all over the place, and your XH spreads)

would make bunnyjumpers look silly, stupid and ignorant, just the way it should.
