OhioanYeah that pisses me off too. Also the fact that a Faust 100 won't kill a Panther to the side at close range. That makes no sense. Panther sides = nothing special.
Add to that the fact that the U.S. weapons are completely superior. Its 1944 and Axis is STILL using K98s with 1 or 2 G43 kits. There needs to be a LOT more G43/STG44 kits availible to Germans 1943-1944. The MP40 is decent, the Greasegun is ridiculously awesome (too accurate and not enough recoil. It didn't weight as much as the Thompson so that thing should be pointing at the sky after 5 rounds of .45). The map isn't horribly unbalanced or anything, I'm just sick and tired of K98s/mp40s on every damn map.
The Panther and the Panzer IV H are fine tanks and about evenly matched with the Allied armored forces. Just make it so the back flag isn't cappable by Allies or make it require 5 or 6 guys to cap and everything will be good again.
The k98 was the main infantry weapon until the end of the war so it makes perfect sense to have that.
'[SYN hydraSlav']Tough? Used to be, but not anymore. Sneak a jeep in, and gray it. And axis can't recap it cause THERE ARE NO FREAKING FLAGS NEARBY. They made the only important axis flag completely isolated. And as RealBadSeed said, even if you are lucky enough to spawn "at that flag" it spawns you in the middle of nowhere, and you can't get back to reinforce that flag without some american spraying you with a greasegun from accross the map.
"rush the rear flag" Is a tactic that will ensure victory for the allies, they have a ton of jeeps/apc's and tanks to do it with. All they have to do is cap _one_ of the front flank flags and they can march right into the town without opposition, and ones that single jeep slips trough all is lost for the germans. Im not saying the old map was much good either, that was jeep-rambo paradise. But this version isnt much good either.
Wow, I just played it on dead meat with 64 players, and it was a complete BLAST!!! Maybe it just was meant to be played on a big server like that: very concentrated fight, and the high numbers ensure you get to a flag pretty fast. Still one of my favorite maps...
germans need a better defence between the front row of flags and the rear one..... a single Pak40 just doesnt cut it
I think that Falaise Pocket is a great map. It doesn't seem too unfair for the MG43 campers - I mean germans. They get better tanks, they can camp the americans easily, and one MG43 can hold down the back flag by itself, with maybe one faust to help.
Agreed. The Pak40 is too easily flanked from the west. Isn't there one on the east side as well though?
