What settings do you want? I'd prefer if you only were able to see tags within communication distance, say 10 meter. Further away than that would not make sense. /Flunken

Not at all, it makes for a more realistic game. Some may dissagree with me but after a while you get used to it. I like to have as little HUD as posible so I get a larger view.

I suppose its another one of those senarios, like the Ironsights..you either like them or you dont.

I personally say get rid of all the tags, and learn to look before you shoot, would get rid of alot of spammers and what not, although you would have problem with tanks because they still look like yours unless they become unuseable by the enemy

Theres another thing...it stop people from stealing enemy tanks, most people look to locking as the solution to this but why not try name tags?

It'd certainly make people think before robbing off with the enemy's gear.

I say nay to name tags. It makes for a more immersive experience if you think of the soldier next to you as your comrade and not "Montario34Ergo9_-+=()[Ger]"....

Oh and where do you guys find those paintings/pics of WWII fighters and such? I've been looking all over and can't find any..

yeah, nice sig Grease_Monkey. Although I say tags should remain server settings. If you like realism you can play on a server with no tags. Personally I find it annoying if you can't see weither or not someone isnt on your team, especially when the other guys is in a vehicle. Actually ,just for vehicles, I don't care about infantery, they're clear weither or not they are enemy from a bigger distance than the tags.

Depends completely on the server and the who I'm playing with. For example, if there are lots of tk tards and no admin to kick them, you can't avoid them since you can't see their tags.

But again, no tags at all makes a hella lot more intensive gaming experience. If the server is good and admins are good, then definitely no tags, but if there are no admins observing the tags should be set at low level. But if anything, they should never be set at maximum.. *hrrrr*.

I always hate when hiding in a ambush with an AT inf weapon in a bush or behind rocks the tank i want to kill can't see me, but discovers my nametag and is hosing my position down with mg or using the cannon. You can even track a nametag through building walls or small hills......rediculous.

It totally negates camouflage uniforms or vehicle skins and those that make proper use of it.

I say get ridd of it all together, we still have the minimap giving the same info. If you doubt an enemy vehicle is really enemy, one look on the minimap is enough.

There will be more accidental kills btw, i can know because i always have been shooting on visual indentification of uniform, vehicle outlining or markings, because i want to play as close to reality as it can get..... it is just my style. Vehicle stealers were never very fond of me....they usually get killed running into me.

It is not a matter anymore i can't use the minimap, i don't want to......because IRL i would not have that info. Indentifying something as enemy uniform, vehicle or marking should be enough. That is realism too.

Maybe that makes me a smacktard, but in my opionion vehicle stealers are smacktards. The very possibility often ruines an interesting game.
