Needless to say, .7 is going to RAWK. However, I recently souped up my machine (will update sig later) and can now play BF2 with 64 players with no lag at all - good enough for FH, would you think? But now I have a choice - I can either download all the kerfuffle needed for 0.67a (or whatever the current version is) or sit tight and wait for .7. Trouble is, I don't know how long I can wait for FH-ey goodness! Now I'm not asking for a release date or anything silly, and this is for both devs and community members, based on what you'd estimate the .7 release to be: Should I sit tight and wait for .7, or download .67?

If it will take you more then a week to download.. i'd say, no. But if its shorter then that, download it now.

Oh, I can do the download easily, it's just the messing around with hotfixes and such that puts me off. One ENORMOUS download would be a much more desirable option. *hint*

Just download it. My semi-educated guess is that it's going to take a while.

I just got a new machine and it took me about 1.5 hours to get FH up and running from scratch. Don't you want to see how nice FH looks on your new rig? Or see how much you DON'T lag on other maps that used to be a mite painful? Or ** gasp **be without FH at all? :bawl: Try it...you'll like it!! :naughty:

You may have noticed that they have put up a test server for the upcoming release and the current version they are testing is 0.68b. There will still be versions 0.68 c,d,e and 0.69 a,b,c,d,e, before 0.7 is released. So they have just started testing it and I remember from the previous releases that it takes a very long time to reach the final version. You should download 0.67 right away, because it will still take a long time before 0.7 is released, I believe 2-3 months is a good estimate.

Howcome ppl don't have .67 and all the associated files already dl'd and backed up? The files have been out long enough, and if you already went through the trouble of downloading them why not have them somewhere? When I first got all the files I got them all together, including FH Realism and then stuffed them in an FH directory. Now, I happen to have the HD space to do that, but even still if I didn't I would have stuff them on a disc as it's just soo much handier that way, and it also works out much nicer if you want to try to get someone into the game, if the luxury is available you can just say, 'Hey man, I've got all the essential FH files here on this dvd' :D. I say, just download it, it will probably be atleast another 3-4 weeks.
