This just posted at FPSCentral.com, a new interview with the BF2 devs. On of the things that caught my eye was the mention of the mod tools, specifically because all I care about is FH's port-over.

Question sent in by Mike Charlie What sort of map/mod/user tools will be shipping with Battlefield 2?

Scott Evans: We plan on shipping the same editor that DICE is using to build the game. It's called the "BF2 Editor". It contains a map editor, animation editor, object editor, and more...

The mention of the animation editor really caught my eye. Is this the same kind of thing that is curewently used for BF1942, or would this actually be useful?

I think i'm going mad

I thought i'd seen this article days ago, i remember thinking that the Bf2 editor would go down well with far fetched animations being made.

I guess the editors will require some more input and dedication than for BF1942, I can't remember Dice using Battlecraft. Heh, it might just actually filter out poor mappers. It'll be much more.. exclusive. The other editors are very nice as well, although not of my interest, it's all grunt work to me. However, this will increase modding abilities greatly.. I can already smell FH BF2!
