Guys has anyone here ever thaught of the complexity of the new engines? Moding isn't just done with a wink of a bit of code. Imagine the detail that has to go into making new models in the Cryengine and imagine the details it demands... not nice...

He just smoked a little too much... Don't bring him down, let reality do that.:p

Just more polygons...it's not like they have to learn a new skill when it comes to modeling. They just finally get a model virtually free of all the hitches it had to adhere to in other engines and can finally look a lot more real. Finally we can, hopefully, get ROUND wheels instead of those caveman wheels with 32 faces or less. Also, there will finally be a whole world of destroyables in single AND MULTIPLAYER. Big Pimpin for real!:Pimp:

Aye, the days of throwing a skin on a model of whatever,.. are over. Thats if you want to keep up with the level of detail of these new game enviroments. Its only gonna get more demanding too. By demanding i mean time wise to do the work, everything just takes longer to do, because there's more to it. I see maps in the future with 100,000+ objects in them, and larger. In the end,.. it means gamers will get more emersive playgounds and toys to play with. Just have to wait longer now-a-days to get them.

Yeah I stopped paying extremely close attention to hardware advances about a few months ago since it changes quite rapidly if you look at every group of parts, new NIC cards, raid cars, GPUs, CPUs, RAM, etc... I now just look at the comparison charts on Tomshardware or read some of the better new realeases at anandtech or maximum or CPU magazine.

Im starting to get annoyed with the way we are hearing and being informed about new tech and advancements. They have to be working on this stuff for years, yet they say nothing until just before they start production. If they expect people to keep buying new computers every year, they are sadly mistaken. Im not buying another computer until they top-out abit on the advancements. Even if it means not playing some of the latest, soon-to-be-released games for a few years.

Yeah I bought my comp for 1000$ a few years back which was a refurbished emachines and then I got a 6800GS and some other adds ons like fans and a nice gaming mouse, all for that price. I don't plan on buying anything until the DX10 cards come down in price and a whole bunch of other things since I want it to be a veritable pimp rig...NIC card if it's really worth it, Raid card, multiple hard drives including 2 raptors in RAID 0 more high cap. HDs etc..., no SLI/crossfire since it's a waste to buy 2 cards that 2 generations later will get surpassed by one card(though the mobo I'll get, which will be expensive, will most likely have it), quad, possibly, CPUs, 4GB, at least, of DDR2 RAM. Basically I want something that's future proof for a while.

BTW I'm sending a ton of applications to computer stores in my area, but not NCIX since you pretty much have to be always up to date with the tech stuff. I'd prefer doing something like talking to customers and stocking and a little repair...
