Guys, you can edit the sounds themselves without causing a problem with the game, but the sound SCRIPTS (which are the problems you are describing above) can NOT be altered into an add-on pack like the FH_Realism thing. You'd need to make it a completely seperate mod.

So, if Tan is still reading this, he COULD do it, but ..

A.) Team probably wouldn't accept it, for multitudes of reasons B.) He couldn't release it as a minimod because no one is going to download a mini mod just for a few minor sound fixes C.) He'd be wasting his time.

.66 has MUCH improved sounds and soundscripts with a few exceptions. I think it might be you guys' speakers. .30 cal MG sound is now nice and even, no stuttering, and it dosent cut out. Know why? Because its a looping sound instead of several instances of one shot sound. It works great for MGs and Automatic weapons if done right.

There's sounds left to fix, but the team HAS fixed quite a bit of them and this tells me they'll fix more in the next patch.

.50 cal sound needs to be loud and booming, not teensy and lame. Some SMG sounds still stutter and overlap Arisaka still dosen't sound like a rifle. Too many rifles use the "No.4" firing sound. The French tank MG plays 4 or 5 instances of the MG firing sound at once that creates overlapping weirdness (and I'm sure some lag)

and more..

We should see these fixed in the next patch.

you can over "your help" as much as you want but there is a reason why you where only a short time in the team and we will never accept "your help" again (at least as long the current members are in)

Neighbor KidThese sounds could use some tweaking, i mean LOTS of tweaking! like for tanks every thing should sound different, like on start up, to moving, to stopping, to turning off. planes need it too. some guns could reallyuse such as the .5 cal.

You don't want a different sound for every vehicle. Would add about 1/2 - 1 ADDITIONAL GB to the mod.

Anyway, I think sounds are fine. I love how the echoes work now, also ricoche sounds are awsome....I don't think it matters that much anyway...

Well I for one think that the sounds in 0.66 kick ass. Nor did I find any problem with the sound system.

Once again...

Devs even if you guys have had a troubled past with Tan, just let it go for once and let him fix the sound coding. Sounds are a major part of this mod, and right now it's obvious that they aren't very stable (coding-wise). I really think you guys are being childish about this whole ordeal. I mean, a guy offers to help you IMPROVE your mod, with no compensation, and then he'll leave it alone. What's the harm done? Your pride? :rolleyes:

Those sounds that are lacking in the directional department... if they were fixed this would make the mod 100 times better IMHO. Completely bizarre to not be able to tell from where something is shooting at you. Maybe someday... ;)

There are some differences that can't be evened out or ignored. You stopped asking for BG FH XWW2 merger long ago, this is similar.
