Hahahahahaha you spoilt bastards whining about sound. On my laptop all my bf1942 voices sound like Alvin the Chipmunk on crack, and lets not start with sounds. Yes I've tried the usual remedies no they don't work.

There are in fact directional sounds...but one must have the right hardware and software setup. I myself have an audigy 2 with a newer 4.1 altec lansing surround sound system. Sounds behind me are less intence, I can hear planes come in from the left...then procede to center and then to the right...etc etc. When I fire my turret MG on tanks it comes mainly from the front right side and is nearly balanced with the left...but one can tell where the difference is. The engine of my tanks are lower in sound because the sound comes mainly from the rear of the tank untill I turn the turret and the engine is to the right or left of me and then I hear it to the right or left of the surround sound. I also have no problem what so ever with the volume of sounds. All the sounds I have are clear and true...and always have been. Perhaps its a problem of your own? Setup is incorrect or hardware is sub-par. Edit: I also have directional explosion sounds....I tested it out last night because I was readjusting my surround sound. I fired a PIAT into the air directly infront of me then pivoted and could hear everything that happened out of the left of my surround sound. Hell even the battlefield static sounds are directional...such as a MG going off here and there. If I pivot while it is making noise the direction of the sound changes. I myself believe that these sounds that I am hearing are the best ever from FH. Sure some weapons might not be up to par but still...they will be.

I totally agree with KleenexMan, I have no clue what you are all talking about, almost, if not all, sounds are directional and of superb quality. And I can even smell why the devs don't want to work with tanelorn (again), can't you? I respect their choices whatever they are, don't forget they started this mod, they're the ones who had the vision of stuff we're currently all playing with and enjoying. They're the ones that want the best for this mod, but not at all costs. I'm sure they welcome every and any help, but if there is a reason not to, just believe in them, trust them, and never forget they're normal people like us.

Ugh... If worse comes to worse, even I'd help you guys out, there are some really simple priority errors made in the code. It really is better not to touch those unless you absolutely have to, the priority #s vanilla BF gives you work fine (you don't notice alot of these sound errors in vanilla BF, do you?), so you shouldn't have to change those that much.

Major HartmannYou don't want a different sound for every vehicle. Would add about 1/2 - 1 ADDITIONAL GB to the mod.

Heh, I don't personally see that as a big problem.

Personally, I wouldn't install anything on my computer that I knew Tanelorn had written. Based on the behavior of his that I've witnessed, I just wouldn't trust it at all. There are reasons behind people's reticence to deal with him, folks, and typically they're entirely Tanelorn's own fault.
