Count Nosferatu Put it this way - have you ever been killed when stationary and guns silent by a sniper? Neither have I

That is my point......they kill me from out of nowhere, while i am standing still in a bush, and i see nothing in range of sight but fog.....no shady sihouette in the fog nothing......but somehow, even with my sihouette being broken by the bush, they do see me right through what is for me the fog barrier !

I long thought it to be the hated nametag issue.....but now, i am not so sure, because i most certainly can't see theirs....

Because it happens so much, i doubt it has to do with cheating.....i ran a google on the subject, and it seems the fog issue lives in more games, and more people concluded that it is a thing that has to do with hardeware, and how your card ( chipset) renders fog. Maybe it is not specificly a ATI/nvidia thing, but a thing between chipsets that are on the various models. It seems the more modern/powerfull the chipset is, the better quality the fog becomes......and the less ( far ) you can see.....

You might just be talking about the old fog exploit. I remember being able to get rid of all the fog on the pavlov map a long time ago. I haven't tried it lately though and I'm sure it's best if I don't say how it's done.

No that's not it......i know some old model ATI card had a fog bug, where they displyed no fog altogether.....

I am talking diffrences in fog transparency.....hardware ( diffence in chipsets ) wise.

Hmm.. isn't it also possible that the rendering doesn't actually render the bush until you get closer, meaning that you see only the silhouette as if there wasn't a bush in the first place? That's why I prefer trees :\... I'm going to do a few offline tests on this and come back...

There ain't much to add about "how to use my tank". Don't forget the fact that on some maps, planes are the most dangerous threat to your tank; so travel through the woods and stop as soon as you hear a plane flying over. Now concerning the "i can't see where that guy's shooting me from" issue; i've never met one of these so far (might have been lucky), i've nearly always managed to spot the ennemy tank (or figured out where it was hiding) but... how often have i been shot by a tank from behind a small hill (or a sand dune). I mean: i saw the tank, i know where it is, i can't shoot it cause of this damn dune/hill/whatever and all my shells either hit the dirt or fly too high...while it can hit me without problems (argh!). Oh, before i forget: watch out for mortars, i.e. don't stay too long at the same spot when laying siege on a flag, why? well... when your Tiger gets blown up by a single 60 mm mortar shell; you'll be quite p***** off. I know, i'm still wondering myself how a 60 mm HE shell could blow my brand new Tiger up... and it happened already 2 times ! Last thing: Jagdpanzer IV & Stug 3G seem to be able to take more hits than any other medium tank (unlike the jagdpanther...); and they're just perfect for ambushes.

Interesting... was it a fluke shot or intentional? I never had that experience
